Dear thebewiderness I am sorry that you are reading from words said long ago, I know it makes poor reading and all I can say is I was wrong and was upset when those words were written I don’t know what page you have read up to but continue reading and you will understand eventually that I was stupid and angry

48harv · 22/01/2018 23:24

Italiangreyhound I don’t mind being shot at so long as they miss🤪

RaininSummer · 22/01/2018 23:45

Good letter Harv. I am a lurker more than a contributor as other posters here are way more eloquent but I am so pleased to see that you understand women's concerns.

thebewilderness · 22/01/2018 23:46

I don't care, harv. Four days is hardly long ago. I am older than you so pls do not try to patronize me in this traditional way.

thebewilderness · 22/01/2018 23:48

I will leave the thread to the male dominance dancers.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 23/01/2018 08:41

I think bewilderness has a point

I have congratulated harv on their letter as I believe that shows that they are making an effort

That does not mean that i thinks harvs world view has changed within 4 days and with a sympathetic letter

I do think harv you should absolutely stick around, its nice to have a polite alternative view whatever my eventual feelings on the matter

BigDeskBob · 23/01/2018 10:07

Why does it matter if a GRC takes three minutes or three years to obtain? It's still men buying the title of "women". The process doesn't guarantee that these men are safe to be around, or that they even pass as women. Women and girls are no less at risk from a man with a GRC than from a man without one.

GRC are irrelevant anyway. Men are in women's hospital wards and prisons without GRC, men are taking over positions of authority supposedly earmarked for women and threatening anyone who speaks out.

I know that some men with GRC think that it's proof of their femaleness, and that some women think GRC makes a man safe, but it really doesn't. How can I few meetings with a therapist do that?

48harv · 23/01/2018 17:45

To my doubters I can only say I regretted my attitude to start with I felt as if I was being “attacked” and I responded, I bitterly regret the tone but cannot take it back as it has been said, constantly apologising is useless, I can only prove my sincerity by the actions I take

I have posted the letters to Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn, and my local MP and will continue to send them until they respond and offer unreservedly my support for any other initiatives you propose.

48harv · 23/01/2018 18:02

I know I can never be a biological woman but the facsimile that I have means I continue to exist, the other alternative was seriously considered on the 22.06 1990 and encouraged by my tormentors.

QuentinSummers · 23/01/2018 18:13

harv u don't need to justify yourself to us and you have the absolute right to live and present however you want to.

Italiangreyhound · 23/01/2018 18:19

100% agree with @QuentinSummers

Honesty. There are some appaling people outfitted tweeting all kinds of crap against women and loads of blokes doing appealing things. 48 is here and is listening, learning and actioning. Which is great.

48 (or do you prefer harv) you do not need to justify yourself.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 23/01/2018 18:23

harv

I agree completely with quentins last post

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:20

Thank you for those words of comfort, I am sure that given the chance I can be an asset to you , there is still time to change minds in the government, it isn’t a done deal yet and with enough signatures it could be shown the law is unworkable. Oh and I hope your day has been kind to you all.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 23/01/2018 19:23

Its been alright harv

But i cant stop eating this week

Its ridiculous

Hope your day has been good

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:25

Either is fine with me.😊

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:28

Rufustherenegadereindeer does that foretell a happy event,? 👶

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:30

Yes a good day my niece came round and we went to lunch had a good chinwag.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 23/01/2018 19:40

Oh god no harv Grin

I'm just greedy...and ive been ever so good since January

January the 1st obviously Grin

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:48

Bigdeskbob the difference is if the system goes back to as it was before and there is no self certification then the years of psychiatric tests does weed out the extreme ones it isn’t the occasional visit to a quack therapist , I had to explain everything over and over again week in week out for 2years and if I had varied the answers they would have refused the operation. I was even questioned on the gurney going to the operation, as to my true intentions.the surgeon was not like the tele one he was courteous but gave me every chance to stop it from being carried out

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:51

What’s your favourite food hat you have denied yourself for the whole of January Rufusetherenegaeraindeer ?

48harv · 23/01/2018 19:55

I went up to 14.5 stone but now I am back to 10.3 stone but don’t ask me about my diet , I had 1 tin of Baxter’s thick veg soup and 2slices of wheat meal bread, and that was it per day for 3 months

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 23/01/2018 20:03

harv

Dh has no breakfast, a tin of tuna for lunch and whatever ive cooked (which to be fair to me is usually good calorie wise)

I dont think ive deprived myself too much but i have tried to reduce the bread i eat...and now ive typed that it's probably easting more bread which is making me overeat

Gosh that was helpful Grin

You did well losing that weight...you must have masses of willpower

I do have will power...but i appear to have put it some where safe and now i cant find it

48harv · 23/01/2018 20:06

Before I came out I was a 60 cigs a day person when I saw the first psychiatrist I was told I could possibly be a candidate for eventual surgery BUT would probably not get it as the meds increase the risk of various cancers , and because I smoke it increased the risks, on the train journey back I threw the cigarettes and an expensive lighter out of the train window and never smoked again. So there’s the secret if you want to give up, Have the op haha

48harv · 23/01/2018 20:07

Good one that made me chuckle

48harv · 23/01/2018 20:09

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so it’s told
