Lily is 19. Lily was instrumental in the hate campaign against Anne Ruzylo which resulted in her standing down.

You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I’m absolutely furious about this ( as you can probably tell)

"Was it him?

Because I gathered from nettles post that he was a bully, not someone who is just naive and autistic.
"

Well I don't think those two things are mutually exclusive.

You can get a pretty good impression of Adrie's personality from his (now banned) profile (1066gull)
on the Brighton & Hove Albion fan forum

I really don't think he knows any better.

He's disactivated his FB as well as his Twitter, so I guess this has got to him.

"I don’t want to click on that saville thing. What is it?"

it's not a real link, just a meme. Like writing "I'm confused.com" instead of "I'm confused". he's just saying he's working for rape.com as Jimmy Savile's apprentice. Rape.com actually goes to a sexual violence survivors' site, but that wasn't the point if the link.

it's just a rape joke.

pisacake · 20/11/2017 14:56

basically he says he's a trainee rapist hahahaha

TiredOfThisAll · 20/11/2017 14:57

well said treaclesoda

Who needs a woman (who might have children or get hysterical or complain or something) when you can have all the qualities of a man, dressed up as a woman?

Datun · 20/11/2017 14:57

pisacake

You take screenshots of all that?

Datun · 20/11/2017 14:58

What a fucking tool.

MacaroonMama · 20/11/2017 14:59

Sorry - on school run so haven't RTFT - I will do so later - I just need to EXPRESS MY RAGE at this. Disgraceful. Labour should be so ashamed. I will look at all the posts later and decide what to do. Shocked, truly shocked.

that is definitely the same liam madigan, is it?

age and photo seem to match up.

duly archived for posterity archive.is/jvdIa

OneFlewOverTheDodosNest · 20/11/2017 15:06

Following on from a PP's point about the appointment being illegal if Liam doesn't have a GRC - how do we go about making this point? Who do we contact about this?

I also think that we ought to be contacting the CLP about the twitter profile / rape jokes which on their own should be enough to get you barred, never mind as fecking women's officer.

RedToothBrush · 20/11/2017 15:18

So basically this is all about an election over competing Labour factions in an area rather than who is the best person for the job.

As per usual.

This is why politics from top to bottom are rotten in this country.

TiredOfThisAll · 20/11/2017 15:20

I have just read the article now, rather than what is on here.

The feminist argument has historically been that women should NOT be defined or limited by their biology - i.e. that women have periods, bear children, and are usually smaller and less strong physically on balance than men is not an indicator of intellectual ability and should not be a bar to professional and public life.

The feminist argument has NEVER been that biology does not matter. I appreciate that feminism is a broad church, but even third wave feminism, with its sex positive, gender is a performance stuff, fought to protect access to contraception and reproductive choice - because BIOLOGY matters. Saying not to define women by their biology is NOT the same as biology does not matter. Acknowledging that gender is a performance does not mean that there is no sexual difference underneath it.

It is NOT anti-trans to say that, sorry, it is actual, physical embodied reality.

Sentimentallentil · 20/11/2017 15:23

Do there was an lgbtq post and a student post, but obviously he wanted the women’s officer post to prove a point, because once again validation of men’s feels is the most important thing.

Xenophile · 20/11/2017 15:25

Owen Jones, for example, is a liar and he knows it.

moving on...

Momentum is doing Labour no favours at all.

hackmum · 20/11/2017 15:27

So a 52-year old woman is sacked for making gender-critical comments on Twitter? And is replaced in her role as women's officer by a 19-year old man who has a rape joke in his Twitter profile?

Is it just me, or has the world gone quite, quite mad?

I know the Emperor's New Clothes analogy is overworked, but I keep reading stuff on Twitter and thinking: why can't they see this? People like Ed Miliband...why can't he see that a 19 year old man is a man, not a woman? It's not that difficult, surely?

AssignedPerfectAtBirth · 20/11/2017 15:31

It can't be legal. He can't have a GRC. It needs to be challenged. Labour Party members?

TitaniasCloset · 20/11/2017 15:33

What a load of old shit. Unfuckingbelievable.

TiredOfThisAll · 20/11/2017 15:40

Sorry, back again on this, it takes a particular type of arrogance (or narcissism) to think that you can speak for women, when you were not born female, you have not been socialised as a girl growing up, and you have not the faintest idea what women put up with on a daily basis, in fact, you are contributing to it.

I hope when this person grows up, they feel ashamed of themselves. The grown ups facilitating it should be ashamed of themselves.

I am all for expanding the boundaries of what it means to be a woman, that is what feminism is about; but I cannot square that with possessing a penis. Or possessing a penis and making rape jokes. Or possessing a penis, making rape jokes and harassing a woman to the point of resignation.

I need to step away from the computer.

DonkeySkin · 20/11/2017 15:43

hackmum, they do see it. Everyone knows trans-identified males are men: that's WHY they support them over women. If people actually believed they were women, no one would coddle them the way they do. They'd tell them to sit down, shut up, stop being so hysterical and subordinate their needs to more important causes. Exactly like they do to us privileged 'cis' women.

Superlandlady · 20/11/2017 15:43

I am gutted for the biological woman who stood and lost the vote to a boy. How must SHE be feeling? Out womanned by a bloke!

Superlandlady · 20/11/2017 15:51

Where is this "rape joke"? I can't find it on his twit account. I need it to report it to Labour.
