Lily Madigan, TIM, elected Labour women's officer

jMillicentFawcett · 20/11/2017 05:17

Lily is 19. Lily was instrumental in the hate campaign against Anne Ruzylo which resulted in her standing down.

You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I’m absolutely furious about this ( as you can probably tell)

Trying to give Lily the benefit of the doubt...

Is it possible that Lily is just a puppet who is being told exactly what to do and say by someone else / other people?

SophoclesTheFox · 26/11/2017 12:32

I think that Lily is very possibly experiencing the 21st century version of being inducted into a cult, the way that a certain type of person has been for centuries.

It's got all the hallmarks, hasn't it?

Us v Them
Unshakeable confidence in rectitude of beliefs
Alienation from family
Constant purging/devaluation of unbelievers
Young, naive followers manipulated and exploited to perform the legwork
Requirement to discard "mainstream" ways of thinking
Isolation from "mainstream" society in favour of only mixing with fellow believers

pisacake · 26/11/2017 12:34

Article seems quite disingenuous/dishonest

". Madigan says she made a complaint against Ruzylo in September because she had “heard she had made some transphobic comments” and wanted the local executive committee to look into them."

Look into them?

Actual complaint:

twitter.com/sargesalute/status/934581087627563008

"I request you see about removing her from her post immediately, and realistically suspending her from the party" "Failing this I will take this matter further including higher up in Labour, and outside the party. I have recorded lots of data." "This needs to be sorted out as a matter of urgency"

" Certainly, it isn’t easy to cast Ruzylo, 52, in the role of wounded victim. Madigan shows me a tweet Ruzylo posted that says simply: “Lily Madigan is not a woman and never will be.”"

Well no shit.

"Madigan says she knew “on some level” she was a girl from a young age. She first heard the word “transgender” when she was 14."

Seriously? Living under a rock perhaps?

" By 16 she had come out to her family. Her mother, a childminder, and her father, a builder, “haven’t been great about it”, she says."

Yes everyone else wrong, me right. Uh huh.

"Madigan has been on the waiting list for hormones for more than two years and thinks she might one day want to have surgery."

Lie. His first appointment, per his Facebook, at the Gender Clinic was late August 2017. He got a handout about hormones but that doesn't put him on any waiting list - the NHS doesn't hand them out with only one visit. He doesn't seem to be in any hurry to do anything that can't be reversed as simply as changing his clothes.

"It’s wrong to cast Madigan as a politically correct agitator. "

Well no, those rape and smelly curry jokes aren't all that politically correct, are they.

"She thinks the laws stopping anyone under 18 having gender reassignment surgery are “pretty good as they are” and “doesn’t really care” about unisex loos in school."

Just as long as he can go in the girls, amirite?

'When I ask whether she agrees with the government’s former children’s mental health adviser Natasha Devon, who says we should avoid using the term “girl” at school for fear of offending transgender pupils, she responds: “I don’t really. I prefer girl. What I would push is that you need to have a choice. I choose to be referred to as female.”'

Er, that was a speech to GIRLS schools about not referring to GIRLS as GIRLS. For fuck's sake you stupid fuck. www.telegraph.co.uk/education/2017/11/21/do-not-refer-female-pupils-girls-ladies-reminds-gender-head/

Lily is a trans-identified boy, so of course he wants to be called girl, that's validating his narcissism.

"Should feminists such as Germaine Greer be allowed to express views that many in the trans community find offensive? “I find it difficult to know whether we should give them a view. Everyone’s views are valid but when some views are inciting hatred against a group, sometimes there is a duty not to give them a platform,” she says."

no you don't find it difficult at all, you've called for women to be sacked and expelled, you are loving it.

"I ask when she started to care about politics and she answers: “Jeremy Corbyn.” Raising Corbyn’s terrible track record with women’s rights is pointless because Madigan is evangelical. "

Well of course he fucking doesn't care about Corbyn's track record on women's rights. He cares very much about his record on trans aka men's rights, and there he has does all the right things.

DonkeySkin · 26/11/2017 12:43

"Certainly, it isn’t easy to cast Ruzylo, 52, in the role of wounded victim. Madigan shows me a tweet Ruzylo posted that says simply: “Lily Madigan is not a woman and never will be.”"

Implication here is that women deserve to be abused and shunned for having the gall to name reality.

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/11/2017 12:44

thefox

Ondont feel sorry for him.at all. How many people his age would have hired lawyers and taken causes on or got into politics etc

He knows exactly what he is doing and is probably laughing his head off at home that all he has to do is yell transphobe and everyone is accused of bullying him and is in the wrong.

Highly manipulative.

No sympathy at all

Traffig · 26/11/2017 13:01

@Giles
My gut feelings also. Highly manipulative indeed,
Someone led him to Leigh Day.. I don't buy the fortuitous google of this particular no win no fee law firm at the back of all this.
Pro bono indeed...

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/11/2017 13:03

I keep reading that.

What is special about this law firm? What am I missing?

Gileswithachainsaw · 26/11/2017 13:04

Genuine question btw. I keep reading about this "coincidence" and I don't know what it means. Who are the lawyers?

Superlandlady · 26/11/2017 13:07

Oh dear, I have better explain why I say he IS vulnerable.

I am not saying ALL trans are. Just this one.

He isn't even as mature or experienced as the average 19-year-old. Having studied him he comes across as about 14.

He had a very difficult childhood, being ignored and lonely. Both parents remarried and neglected him in favour of their new families. He was raised as a Roman Catholic (need I say more?) His younger brother is extrovert and popular, and Head Boy. Liam is nothing like him. He is shy, confused, lost, lonely. I call that vulnerable.

On his Facebook his status is "I am incapable of love". He has tweeted about how he feels rejected and cannot get close to anyone. This is all teenage angst. We see it a lot, but we help them through it, we don't put them in charge of women's issues in a Labour constituency!

I don't blame Liam Madigan for any of this. Many teenagers get screwed up by their childhoods (myself included) but for adults who ought to know better to encourage him into roles he is too young and inexperienced for, let alone the wrong sex for, is abuse and exploitation. They are using him to push on with their own agenda. Women back him to be seen as "nice" to a little boy. Well, a little boy should be left alone to grow up and work out his issues, not placed in the public limelight.

Liam only left school a few weeks ago. By his own admission he is asexual, has never had a relationship with a woman (or man) and has never "lived as a woman" (whatever that means.) He has zero life experience.

He has only just started at uni, and holding all these offices and being constantly publicly scrutinised is TOO MUCH for him.

When he cracks, it won't be Labour getting the blame, though (which it should) it will be us horrible feminazis who "drove him to it".

But we feminazis should never even have heard of Liam/Lily. Because he/she should be focussing on coursework and getting a degree.

This child only joined the Labour Party in May. "Looking for somewhere to belong", he found instant friendship and support, merely by saying he is trans. It made him everyone's darling and now they are fiercely defending him.

If he cannot defend himself he should not be holding ANY kind of public office or post. Because he will hide and say he is being bullied for being trans, when actually that is not the case. He MUST be made to speak on his own account. So far, he has said NOTHING about politics of women or anything other than whining "Stop being mean to me" and "stop calling me a boy."

He knows almost nothing about politics. He posted on Facebook in 2015 a photo where his school took his class on a visit to the House of Commons. He joined Labour whilst still at school in May 2017.

Lately he was photographed holding a banner about neo-liberalism, but when Labour member Peter Webb asking him on twitter what he meant by neo-liberalism Liam/Lily tweeted back that he had no idea and Peter should ask someone else!

My question to the Labour Party is this: why have you pushed him forward at such a young age? What is the hurry? He does not even know who or what he is, yet. Why not wait till he graduates? Why does he have to be holding office NOW when he's just a vulnerable, lonely, confused teenager?

Corbyn should be protecting him from exploitation.

OlennasWimple · 26/11/2017 13:28

That article is terrible.

Super - I agree with much of your post. The Labour Party has a lot to answer for, but I've not seen them make any kind of comment on the situation

SophoclesTheFox · 26/11/2017 13:33

That makes a lot of sense, super.

pisacake · 26/11/2017 13:34

I feel some sympathy for Liam in the sense that there are a lot of twatty males who don't get this level of attention.

The problem is his twattiness is being validated by political leaders so it is unfortunately necessary to highlight just how ridiculous Liam is.

I mean it's a bit like a mentally ill person claiming to be Jesus or whatever - if they aren't taken seriously then you wouldn't single them out for attention

Datun · 26/11/2017 13:37

Superlandlady

I’m inclined to agree with both your post and pisacake’s post at the same time. Which I think I can just about do.

The problem is, that whether this boy just been inducted into a cult, or whether they are genuinely identity confused, most people in either of those situations are vulnerable, by the very nature of gender confusion or cult induction.

Being transgender automatically makes you vulnerable, because it is a denial of reality. The trans ideology is a cult. Comorbid mental health issues are prevalent.

Some members may well be more robust than others. But most of them hold incredibly fragile views of themselves, hence #nodebate.

The undeniable part about all this is that feminists will definitely be blamed.

Someone acts against the interests of women, women react, that person is deemed a victim. It’s the same story, time after time.

We need to justify our reaction, whilst acknowledging his vulnerability, but pointing out the very real, and purposeful, damage to women.

This just reminds me of being a parent and refereeing disagreements between siblings!

Having to take moral high ground, whilst understanding someone’s situation, and still effectively pointing out where they’re going wrong.

WTAFisthisshit · 26/11/2017 13:56

Do you actually know Lily then super? Your post makes an awful lot of sense to me. I've posted before and I'll say it again I think this is a classic case of the abused becoming the abuser. At 19 Lily is technically an adult so the priority has to be safeguarding of under 18's. My understanding was that the 2014 children's act trumped all other legislation? Why is this assault on woman and children not being dealt with as the national safeguarding scandal that it clearly is?

Datun and others who have said it, I totally agree that when the shit hits the fan the feministists will be blamed and not the activists who first groomed Liam. The really cynical part of me wonders if that isn't in fact their actual plan Sad

TheGoalIsToStayOutOfTheHole · 26/11/2017 13:59

Schrödinger's trans woman

Vulnerable when questioned but completely capable and strong when standing up for the cause
Trans when attacked but a typical normal woman when representing others
A teenager when under scrutiny but an experienced campaigner when being promoted.

It's more doublespeak.

Indeed. And Paris Les can fuck right off.

Maryz · 26/11/2017 14:02

I feel so sorry for Lily's parents.

They are simultaneously being blamed for not supporting her in transition, and blamed for her troubled childhood, and being (effectively) being accused of neglect. While at the same time trying to support their other children, one of whom has been struggling with this in school and one of whom has been called an outright liar for the whole world to see.

Lily may be vulnerable - in fact with all the evidence about the connection between transgender and autism and mental health issues and social misfits etc etc, it would be surprising if she wasn't - and she is certainly being used by others with an agenda. But at some point even vulnerable teenagers have to be held responsible for their actions, and as others have said when the victim becomes the abuser sympathy fades rapidly.

FlaviaAlbia · 26/11/2017 14:13

I agree Maryz and you've articulated it much better than I could.

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 26/11/2017 14:43

He isn't even as mature or experienced as the average 19-year-old. Having studied him he comes across as about 14.

This is the point. Let's not say that all 19 year olds are incapable of holding office.

Just look at Mhairi Black. Whether you agree with her politics or not, you surely have to admire her. She's a fantastic orator, and has the makings of a politician of considerable stature. I think she's amazing. And she was only 20 when she entered the Commons as an MP.

This teenager is no where near as competent or mature as Mhairi. And that's not just down to age.

SuburbanRhonda · 26/11/2017 14:58

Lily is the same age as my DS. I keep having to remind myself of that, because there’s such a huge difference between them in terms of level of maturity and self-awareness.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2017 15:30

Interesting post Super I am beginning to wonder just how much more I can dislike Corbyn.

The Mhairi Black comparison is irrelevant. Personally I think she is an ignorant gobby loud mouth who gets away with much nonsense by playing on her youth and class.

OlennasWimple · 26/11/2017 15:31

Lily also has a YouTube channel. I recommend avoiding the one about bathroom policies being transphobic if you have blood pressure issues Angry

I found it really interesting that Lily explicitly says that it was from watching Youtube videos that she came to realise that she is transgender. There are a couple of "tells", such as using the word "restrooms" in the "video diary", which show real parrotting of TRA ideology (restrooms being an American word which I doubt many people in Rochester would use otherwise)

WTAFisthisshit · 26/11/2017 15:42

Grooming, grooming, grooming this is a national safeguarding scandal that anybody who's not a paedophile should be up in arms about! History will view people keeping quiet to protect their own careers in the same way we view the Catholic Church moving problem priests to different parishes. Wrong side of history my arse.

TiredOfThisAll · 26/11/2017 16:02

I feel sorry for his parents, tbh. We really don’t know anything about them but because they are both remarried with new families, this is somehow their faultHmm.

That is kind of on a par with saying juvenile delinquency is the fault of single parents. I am uncomfortable with the way the whole family is drawn into this. The buck should stop with the Labour Party and Liam/Lily.

pisacake · 26/11/2017 16:45

His mannerisms remind me most of a transsexual prostitute in Bangkok. Ridiculous and exaggerated.

NettleTea · 26/11/2017 16:47

In regard Lily putting in that objection about Anne, the guy at the centre of the shitstorm that is Bexhill and Battle CLP put her up to it. They had both spent the weekend away at a festival in Ireland - I dont know if Lily went with the labour party, but our bloke did - works for the Workers Beer company at festivals and donates money earned to local party - gets you into lots of cool places, he did Glasto too. Lily may well have been helping at that too, but thats where they were together.
Lily has been played by our bloke, although possibly didnt need too much persuading. Our bloke is nearly 30. why he was hanging around and pursuading 19 yr olds what to do, who knows
