Lily is 19. Lily was instrumental in the hate campaign against Anne Ruzylo which resulted in her standing down.

You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I’m absolutely furious about this ( as you can probably tell)

One tweet does not a theory make, but.......

It's quite khmer rougey, as in denounce the feminist mums.

I've been thinking this for a while woman.

That's why I think it's important for us oldies to connect up with the young 'uns and do some old fashioned consciousness raising.

woman11017 · 25/11/2017 22:33

do some old fashioned consciousness raising
whitehandledkitchenknife true.

What is happening is only progressive in a tribal sense. For some reason, the bourgeois liberal left has adopted trans dogma. But trans dogma is regressive, sexist, homophobic, authoritarian and faith-based fundamentalist. Nothing actually progressive about it.

Every time anyone doubts themselves about this, they should just say "Emperor's. New. Clothes" three times and they'll soon get back to the land of the rational, liberal, and genuinely progressive.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 25/11/2017 23:12

Red, "liberal minded", as in tolerant/broad-minded. I'm not feeling at all tolerant of Liam though, that's for sure.

RedToothBrush · 25/11/2017 23:24

Being liberal means being intolerant only of intolerance.... You are still being liberal.

RedToothBrush · 25/11/2017 23:25

Make a note of when Lily is a teenager and when Lily is a women.

When Lily is being defended by supporters as a victim, Lily is a teenager. When Lily is doing work and to be respected Lily is a woman.

It's all about the victim and how to deflect scrutiny. The concerns are not ever addressed because they don't want to. Being the victim is the only argument there is.

The public responsibility and the need for scrutiny in a democratic and representative role, is a sticking point. (FWIW Owen Jones has a bad case if the trumps where he accuses others of what he himself is most guilty as a preemptive political move - I believe it's called a reversal or trying to create a reverse narrative).

If TRAs are like UKIP (and they are) then they won't hold up well to scrutiny and they won't be good at doing the job they are supposed to.

Make the point it's about democracy not being trans as such. A good trans women, who has made the effort and earnt the respect of women
in understanding the issues properly could in theory do the job. But earning respect is crucial to those who have that lack of experience. You have to have one or the other.

That's also why it's important we know the biology of those representing biological issues. To ensure they are representing our interests and don't have another agenda. Biology is political and can never not be.

Ask Owen Jones how biology can stop being political. You won't get an answer. At least one that doesn't dodge the question.

it wasn't deactivated, just renamed to @jumpingjacka

www.wired.com/2014/08/handle_change/

Sentimentallentil · 26/11/2017 00:45

I don’t understand, what does that tweet mean? That it was Madigans account?

pisacake · 26/11/2017 00:54

that's not a tweet. Some TRA has re-registered the account in Lily/Liam's name.

Maryz · 26/11/2017 00:57

When you try to delete a twitter account, you can't. You can deactivate it, at which point Twitter will hide it. If you don't then log in for 30 days they delete it, at which point the name is open for someone else to grab.

I presume it's 31 days since it was spotted and Lily tried to delete it. Someone (seems like a TRA) has been watching closely and grabbed the name before anyone else could.

pisacake · 26/11/2017 00:59

no, Lily renamed the account to jumpingjacka, which made it immediately available for re-registration

Datun · 26/11/2017 01:08

pisacake

I don’t understand Twitter. But that sounds incriminating. Is it? Or is it something that can’t be proven?

pisacake · 26/11/2017 01:10

well he's blamed it on his brother anyway, so it's a moot point.

Maryz · 26/11/2017 01:19

Sorry pisacake, I didn't realise that could happen (the name be released immediately)

I wonder was it a coincidence that it was renamed and the old name was nabbed by a TRA. I wonder could they possibly know each other? I am becoming slightly cynical.

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 26/11/2017 01:50

I think we're learning Lily's none too bright.

As for the person who's taken over the account, they're not exactly the most mature person.

Twitter have put a warning on it the Twitter account, which is a bit odd. You can still see if if you click past the warning. It says:

"Caution: This account is temporarily restricted
You’re seeing this warning because there has been some unusual activity from this account. Do you still want to view it?"

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit

Can you explain what that means. Is it damning ? Or could it be wriggled out of?

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 26/11/2017 02:46

Hi Datun, sorry I should have made it clearer - my post was a a bit of a stream of consciouslness, I was thinking aloud - the three statements aren't directly linked. I'm not saying I think Lily's none too bright because of anything new. Just going on what we already know - e.g. blatantly telling lies about the Twitter account being a fake (the brother kinda gave that lie away!) and also, tonight, lying about never having had any intention of applying for the Jo Cox fund - despite mentioning it on Twitter. Althoguh I wouldn't be at all surprised if the account was a mate of Lily's or Lily - but I have no proof at all of that.

About the Twitter account, it looks like be that some kind of activity on the account has tripped Twitter's filters for dodgy activity - what that would be I have no idea! It's a bit like like MN's "we've closed this thread to take a closer look"!

It sounds like this account has been involved in abusive behaviour. From this article explaining what restrictions with this message are about:

"We’re working to identify accounts as they’re engaging in abusive behavior, even if this behavior hasn’t been reported to us,” Ed Ho, Twitter’s VP of engineering, wrote in a blog post earlier this month. “Then, we’re taking action by limiting certain account functionality for a set amount of time, such as allowing only their followers to see their Tweets.

“We aim to only act on accounts when we’re confident, based on our algorithms, that their behavior is abusive. Since these tools are new we will sometimes make mistakes, but know that we are actively working to improve and iterate on them everyday."

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit · 26/11/2017 02:53

Sorry, reading that back I can see it's missing some words - hope it's still readable! Think that must mean it's time for bed.

Datun · 26/11/2017 09:11

raisinsarenottheonlyfruit

Thanks. I guess it’s one of those things where your experience tells you something but it isn’t actually provable purely based on the statements made by Twitter.

As you say, like MNHQ’s sometimes cryptic messages.

Oh well. Petards and hoists will no doubt engage with each other at some point.

Superlandlady · 26/11/2017 09:59

Tweeted to Corbyn. Suggest everyone does the same.

Labour is exploiting a vulnerable, confused teenager, for their own woman-hating agenda, and YOU have facilitated this. Shame on you JC.

MaryMaryQuiteLovely · 26/11/2017 10:31

More successful 'women'

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 26/11/2017 10:34

Paris Lees tweeted "An innocent and potentially vulnerable young woman is being harassed and insulted this week, the same way Lucy Meadows was bullied during the final months of her life. And 'Liberals' are joining in. Disgusting. As Lucy's coroner told the press at her inquest: shame on all of you."

This is shockingly irresponsible. I swear the rhetoric used by ta's causes suicidal feelings.

Plus if Lily is so delicate why is he in politics? Not the place for the faint of heart.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/11/2017 10:35

I saw that tweet. So far Lily seems anything but vulnerable, but good of Paris to introduce that idea Hmm
