You have to be a woman to be women’s officer but ‘The Labour councillor said that “lived experience as a woman” should be considered an advantage — but not a prerequisite — for the role of women’s officer.’

Lily could also have gone for the LGBT officer role but they didn’t want that. No, they wanted to show women that they can shit all over them and we will applaud them for doing it.

I have only a couple of occasions gone down the trans rabbit hole on Reddit.

I saw a pro-trans thread on a far-right subreddit once and I WTFed.

Mumsnet is much better for this.

Yup, exactly norah. This is further evidence that many so-called trans activists are simply men's rights activists in disguise (not a very convincing disguise, in Lily's case). The depressing thing about it is that senior people in the Labour party are apparently too frigging stupid to spot it.

People need more life experience so they can learn to say 'fuck off' to things which are wrong and not just blindly accept crap in the name of diversity.

That reminds me of the Germaine Greer interview where Kirsty Wark asks Greer if she understands that a transwoman might feel it insulting that Greer doesn’t consider them a woman, and Greer simply says “I don’t care! People get insulted all the time!”

My own and friends' sons of similar ages have been tricked into believing that to oppose TRA is to be a hopeless reactionary. It's quite khmer rougey, as in denounce the feminist mums.

Being liberal minded means you balance the needs of all interest groups and consider how each group needs particular representation and a voice heard. You recognise their particular vulnerabilities and how they can be accommodated.

What is happening is not liberal. It should never be called liberal as it perpetuates the myth - and the support that goes with it - that it is progressive.

I was the battle I had for many years - my identity as a liberal versus this agenda. Break it. Challenge it as much as the use of language such as cis.

Call it authoritarian at every opportunity as that is what it is.
