Yes we really must spare a thought for all these senior men in the media. How complicated and joyless it must be for them to try not to sexually harass women.

How unspeakable for Coren to write that 'nobody told' Weinstein that what he was doing was wrong. As if sexual consent is some kind of brainteasing riddle that even really intelligent and successful senior men struggle to decipher. It's all so stacked against them, the poor loves.

Oddly, most decent people I know don't seem to need to rack our memories of how we have behaved at work over the past decades, in order to be 100% confident that we haven't been sexually harassing our colleagues.

I'd say a not large self-selecting group have been nodding in agreement with Coren's articles and thinking "isn't this just fine" with a large majority unaware of this journalist onanism. I think that many would actually find his work to be pretty unpleasant if they happened across it.

This business of it all being fine for the select until the general public have a look is depressingly familiar.

Well I've always known that Giles Coren is a total prune but I was unaware of his flip comments about his wife's miscarriage, and his demands for her to get her tiny waist back ten seconds after giving birth, and how 'sexy' going on holiday with your toddler daughter can be. I'm actually speechless. No doubt this is actually all truly hilarious stuff, pure comedy gold, and we're all just too uptight and humourless to get it. Yeah.

And my heart pumps purple piss for him having to start behaving like an actual human being around women instead of some sleazy sex pest. Heart rending stuff.

Naut, but there are fans of his from The Times, the magazines, his social media... The mags considered all these articles would be appreciated by readers. Business models for magazines aside, I realise they're a dying breed, but there is still a significant portion of readers who enjoy this.

And much as I love Twitter, thats not reflective of a wider public either. Add up the Coren fans, the GIll fans, the Trump fans, the porn mag market etc etc. ......that's a lot of woman hating out there, and they get married and have children and shove their beliefs into them as best they can.
