The UK is officially an intolerant hellhole for transwomen

www.theguardian.com/world/2017/oct/12/british-transgender-woman-given-residency-in-safer-new-zealand

"The tribunal deemed it would be “unduly harsh” for the woman to be forced to return to the UK, where she suffered years of “persecution” due to her gender identity disorder. "

In pleading for the woman to be allowed to remain in New Zealand, her lawyer, Kar-yen Partington, presented 20 articles to the tribunal detailing transphobic hate crimes in the UK.

Recent data from the UK shows transphobic hate crimes against LGBTQ people have soared by nearly 80% in the last four years, with more than one in five LGBT people being the victim of a hate crime in last 12 months.

Just seriously curious if (actual) women have ever been granted asylum for being subject to harassment, which in some countries is very extreme. Or is this more trans privilege?

In that case, sign me up! (Greysexual that is).

Hmm, at this rate the UK will have to open its first Cat A prison for women offenders to house rapists, murderers and the like. Be a hell of a concidence if they mostly turned out (barring the odd Rosemary West/Myra Hyndley) to be trans.

queen swift hung themselves before they could be charged.
The fact they've said "legally named Jonathan" is encouraging as it suggests the media are actively looking for ways round Ipso guidelines in these cases. Which I am pleased about

queen swift hung themselves before they could be charged.

Will they be added to the stats of trans people who have committed suicide because of transphobia?

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 19/10/2017 22:08

Sorry I just skimmed so didn't catch usernames but it is younger people that are pushing it. And they are loud about it too. It seems mostly because institutions are scared of being labelled bigot or not inclusive enough. It damages reputations.

They give younger people a bad rep. The irony isn't lost when the people claiming science is a social construct are white middle class 20 somethings that have received redbrick uni education. It's just unbelievable.

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 19/10/2017 22:09

And yes about 'graysexual' Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 19/10/2017 23:15

Women's prison for "swifty" I assume...

No, Doncaster is male.

The fact they've said "legally named Jonathan" is encouraging as it suggests the media are actively looking for ways round Ipso guidelines in these cases. Which I am pleased about

Also the verbatim reports from the eyewitness who was under no illusions as to the sex of the murderer.

Gingernaut · 20/10/2017 00:12

However, as a 'female', Swift will be added to the statistics of 'females who kill'.

He wasn't a woman when he died but that won't be recorded.

But Theresa May says it's very important for people to be able to change gender at the drop of a hat. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/theresa-may-transgender-not-illness-gender-recognition-act-lgbt-rights-sex-edution-homophobia-pink-a8008486.html So in the future we may never know that 'Jennifer' was actually Jonathan.

That might actually be the perfect way round it.

This Huffington Post article by Ruth Hunt, Chief Exec of Stonewall, is going around on Facebook. 'Britain is no longer considered a safe part of the world for trans people to live in':

Regarding sexual attraction I'm with the physical type - it has to be a certain type of person.

I'm no longer sexually active with another person and I'm not expecting to be for sometime soon. However I still find pleasure with myself, so I guess I'm still sexually active.

One thing I do know now, if I'm no longer attracted to that person then I cannot have sex with them. If I'm not in the mood then sex will not happen.

I do not understand those who have 'duty sex' because if you don't then you will lose them, because a strong and binding relationship should recover from 'dry spells'.

QueenOfTheSardines · 20/10/2017 18:47

Oh dear I didn't read all the article - just the first half or so. Yes I imagine that this will be logged as a trans death due to being housed in the "wrong" prison and increase support for people like swifty to be housed with the women.

This person had a lot of mental health issues and in general the suicide rates need serious attention - and self harm - abuse - all of it.

None of this is any reason to put trans women in with women though, and espeically not transwomen who have functioning cocks and / or accusations or convictions around violence against women of any type.

I mean this should be obvious but apparently it's not Confused
