A create a letter
B create a list of schools and MP
C sending the letter
D create a name for this group of concerned members of the public, formally known as TERFHmm?

FactsAreNotMean · 20/09/2017 16:20

Do we still want it to be feminist associated- thinking of names here

Rational feminism
Gender free females
Factual feminists

All crap probably

HornyTortoise · 20/09/2017 16:22

I don't think having feminists in the name is a good idea. A lot of people think of feminist as some kind of dirty word. Wrongly, but thats how it is.

Women, or even better females...would probably suffice. Though a lot of males will be on our side in this...shame 'people' is not sufficient :S

Zoloh · 20/09/2017 16:24

Something that's interesting about Lupron (puberty blocker) is that its use on kids is already being fought by a group of women, now adults, who were prescribed it in the 90s and 00s to treat precious puberty. www.revealnews.org/article/women-say-drug-used-to-halt-puberty-has-ruined-their-lives/

What's even more interesting about these cases is the finding that a huge percentage of those treated were not, in fact, suffering precocious puberty. They were just short. This struck me because there's a long history of tall girls being "treated" with oestrogen to stop them growing. ( How tall is too tall? On the ethics of oestrogen treatment for tall girls ) despite this causing lifelong health effects.

It all starts to look like the pathologisation of difference, doesn't it?

enoughisenough12 · 20/09/2017 16:28

I think we need to be focussing on MPs in terms of letters. And maybe the Press and the organisations responsible - ie the Department for Education, the NHS, local government. Letters to schools will (in my experience) be binned. We should be looking to ensure that our 'leaders' and those responsible for organisations are aware of the current levels of 'indoctrination' and the active suppression of reasoned debate as well as the potential for active harm being done to some children.

NYConcreteJungle · 20/09/2017 16:32

How about something about Men and women fighting for their sex?

NYConcreteJungle · 20/09/2017 16:34

The DfE have relevant leaders names in their published forum documents.

Zoloh · 20/09/2017 16:37

@NYConcreteJungle Battle for the sexes. Wink

HornyTortoise · 20/09/2017 16:38

I posted Magdalen Brns video on my facebook, with this comment

'Nowt but a bunch of misogynistic males wanting to beat on and silence women with legitimate concerns about this ridiculous notion that simply saying one is a woman means they actually are a woman. Its bonkers. Totally backwards and regressive, both woman hating and deeply homophobic too. 'Transing the gay away' is sadly, true. Pushing for children (as young as 3 ffs) to be classed as 'trans' just because they like playing with toys usually associated with the opposite sex, or wearing dresses if they are male and all that crap. These kids are thrown onto 'harmless' puberty blockers, which are actually fucking CANCER drugs. They are not reversible and harmless as claimed, as as soon as a kid is put on this route, 100% of them go onto cross sex hormones (which also have huge health concerns). When if these kids are simply left alone to discover themselves, 80% of them grow up to simply...be gay. And there is no end of support for this? Really? I thought people cared more about LGB people than this tbh. I genuinely think putting kids on puberty blockers and cross sex hormones should be classed as child abuse, not widely supported?!

Transactivists are scum. Woman hating, homophobic scum. And its about time people knew exactly what it is that they are blindly supporting. Transsexual people (those known as 'truscum' among transactivists) are also being thrown under the bus in this ridiculous 'female penis' 'being attracted to the opposite sex OR the same sex rather than 'gender' is transphobic', 'anyone is a woman who says they are' absolute BULLSHIT.

Its a shame elderly women have to be beaten up for this to get in the mainstream press and such. But if thats the way it has to be...so be it. Hopefully more people will open their eyes and have a bit of a think about all of this crap.'

Let the abuse commence. I am now openly TERFy on social media Grin

HornyTortoise · 20/09/2017 16:39

Sorry about the elderly woman comment too, I don't actually think 60 is elderly at all. Just think it makes more of an impact :S

Datun · 20/09/2017 16:41

Well done HornyTortoise. Let us know how it goes.

(Did you used to be WM, by the way?)

FactsAreNotMean · 20/09/2017 16:45

That was my first thought re the name tortoise - sadly feminist is a dirty word.

Albadross · 20/09/2017 16:46

I'm not on any Terfy twitter lists 😭😭

Datun · 20/09/2017 16:49

"Privacy for Children"?

I'm trying to think of a name that you can't argue with. No one could possibly say, well I disagree with that.

And tackling the issue in schools is all about children.

The fact that it will also affect adult women, is just an extension.

Most people get far more riled over the thought of their six-year-old daughter standing next to a fully naked man, than for themselves.

enoughisenough12 · 20/09/2017 16:52

Datun
Let (our) children be children?

busyboysmum · 20/09/2017 16:56

How about we suggest all biological women remove their bodies from the market and leave only trans women for men to mate with. Wonder how many would agree they were women then.....

Datun · 20/09/2017 16:57

enoughisenough12

Except that's what transactivists claim. That they are letting them be their authentic selves.

Whole thing makes my head hurt.

HornyTortoise · 20/09/2017 16:58

Yeah I was WM xD

I don't have a fetish for animals, honest. Namechanges came about because of a thread about animal behaviours in zoos Grin

NYConcreteJungle · 20/09/2017 16:59

Like this?

BeyondNoone · 20/09/2017 17:00

Biology matters? Or is that in my head because it's already taken...?

Backingvocals · 20/09/2017 17:03

Privacy for children captures it I think.

Respect for children also alludes to the need to ensure children aren't forced into trans ideology when they just want to behave in non stereotypical ways.

DonkeySkin · 20/09/2017 17:03

Some sort of concerted organisation is definitely needed.

I agree. The media coverage of the Speaker's Corner attack was (with the exception of the Times and Sky News) woefully confused and ignorant, right down to referring to the assembled feminists as 'TERFs', which is an anti-feminist slur that is used by trans activists to incite hatred and violence towards women who question the trans agenda. An organised group with a manifesto and spokeswomen would mean that gender-critical feminists could get our message out to the media and educate them on our stance, instead of having it hopelessly garbled. It could also lobby politicians and educate them about what exactly it is they are supporting in the name of 'inclusiveness'.

For any future feminist group focused on stopping the gender identity agenda, I suggest the name SexNotGender. It's succinct and gets to the heart of the issue: Sex is a material reality that is both immutable and politically relevant, and it must not be legally and socially obliterated in favour of the entirely subjective concept of 'gender identity'.

Backingvocals · 20/09/2017 17:13

How about Science not Stereotype?

FactsAreNotMean · 20/09/2017 17:15

Agree with sexnotgender.

My concern with a child specific option is it limits the issues we can raise - and no doubt the ta lobby will argue trans child privacy involves being in the opposite loo!Hmm

FactsAreNotMean · 20/09/2017 17:22

Posted. Science not stereotypes is good, maybe as a catchphrase? Personalities not pronouns for similar theme?

Something dead simple like Just Be You?
