Has anyone seen this news story today? The irony that a mtt transgender goes off on one about race when the exact same thing can be said about men's privilege and society standing on the backs of women...
Sorry, just made me a bit Hmm

When you admit you haven't done very much research on the subject, what makes you assume you know better than those who have?

Yes, I'd also love to know this.

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 02/09/2017 23:02

Fwiw I will very rarely use "he", but I will utterly defend other women's right to acknowledge biological fact.

MotherPeresA · 02/09/2017 23:02

Please tell me that you get this: I'm saying that we don't really know. My whole point is that we don't really know. But, for someone to deny it, they are saying that they do know.

Please, read it as many times as you like, but tell me that you understand that.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:03

Your claim is that the whole issue is bogus.

What do you mean when you say "the whole issue"?

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:04

But, for someone to deny it, they are saying that they do know.

No they are saying that they aren't convinced by the case that has been made to them.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:06

There is the understood factual position, and there is an extraordinary claim. The onus is on the people making the claim to prove it, not the doubters.

MotherPeresA · 02/09/2017 23:07

And you wonder why people mock radfems and refuse to be associated with them. FFS.

Goodnight.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:07

And you wonder why people think trans allies are ridiculous and can't argue for toffee.

DJBaggySmalls · 02/09/2017 23:08

You've gone well beyond mocking people today.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:09

Don't call me an arsehole, personally, and expect to get cut any slack in your weak arguments. Night!

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 02/09/2017 23:12

"I'm saying that we don't really know. My whole point is that we don't really know"

And I am saying, that this is not what the existing evidence says. If you actually read it, and don't just read the headlines in the news.

CoteDAzur · 02/09/2017 23:12

"when you call a Transwoman 'he', you are making a claim"

Is the claim that "he" is the pronoun for male people in the English language? If so, it's a pretty factual one.

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 02/09/2017 23:13

I don't wonder why people mock radfems. I'm well aware of the reasons.

BeyondLimitsAndWhatever · 02/09/2017 23:13

Cote, I think this thread is lacking in some correct definitions.....
Wink

sonlypuppyfat · 02/09/2017 23:17

Long hair does not make someone a woman. If you are born a boy you are a he, that is a fact.

Datun · 02/09/2017 23:24

Good Lord. I deliberately called Munroe they to avoid this derailing nonsense. But Munroe is a man. A man who promotes a club called the pussy palace.

The word 'he' refers to an adult human male. Munroe is a transwoman, ergo he is an adult human male.

There is no science whatsoever which supports that a person can change chromosomes.

If presenting as a woman alleviates gender dysphoria, then most people will, out of courtesy, use the preferred pronouns. It's a politeness, not a statement of fact.

MotherPeresA · 02/09/2017 23:28

Anyone with a keyboard can put together a half-decent comeback - and find some support on a two-bit forum. But you really ought to step out of your little clique.

RadFems getting no-platformed by universities? You even have this generation of female-led student unions against you?

As I posted as the beginning of this thread, you are alone in a boat with Alt-right fundamentalist nutjobs on this one.

A bit of honest reflection would suit you better.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:32

Hahahaha give it up now, why don't you Grin

Don't feel obliged to hang around on this two bit forum or anything. Take your inane and uninformed thought policing off to somewhere where they'll listen. I hear Everyday Feminism is looking for exciting new content.

Ereshkigal · 02/09/2017 23:34

As I posted as the beginning of this thread, you are alone in a boat with Alt-right fundamentalist nutjobs on this one.

And bullshit, everyone knows they're men but are either too polite, too scared or too nice to say.

CoteDAzur · 02/09/2017 23:35

"people that were ideologically committed to denying the idea of gender dysphoria"

Nobody is denying that there is a condition called Gender Dysphoria, just like there is a condition called Anorexia.

What people are saying is that a man who suffers from Gender Dysphoria isn't a woman because he thinks he is. Just like someone who suffers from Anorexia isn't actually fat because she thinks she is.

Datun · 02/09/2017 23:37

MotherPeresA

I commend your intentions to be inclusive. I'm sure it comes from a good place.

But I urge to spend a little time investigating what transactivists say and do. The violence, rape threats, no platforming, doxxing etc,

Not to mention the determination to erase sexual orientation and make homosexuality a choice. A choice to be 'unlearned' if inconvenient.

The LGB community has spent decades on the 'Born this Way' campaign in order to find societal acceptance. The trans ideology claims the opposite.

Terfing · 02/09/2017 23:42

Monroe is all over the place today discussing this issue. I think they're enjoy the controversy... Hmm

GriswaldFamilyVacation · 03/09/2017 07:53

I agree with scallopsaregreat. Nothing wrong with what he said, I do think it's ironic for him to come out with that while not understanding the same things could be said for males over women. Or that the trans agenda is abusing women. Or that the makeup industry is using males to sell women shit they don't need.

But equally I find it revolting and ironic how many feminists come out with total nonsense and racism. They should know better. And please stop comparing the N word to terf. They are not comparable. I don't like terf, people who use it are I assume, idiots. But no, they are not the same. People didn't hang from trees while someone spat terf at them. Just comparing the two shows how much you don't get it.

GriswaldFamilyVacation · 03/09/2017 07:55

You even have this generation of female-led student unions against you?

The issue is they aren't female led.
