I'm finding it very difficult to get past the fact that a lot of posters on this thread are talking about hate and intolerance whilst also referring to Bergdorf as 'he'.

Calling Bergdorf 'he' is very clearly a spiteful and politically-motivated choice. Given that science is as yet undetermined on this issue (but certainly has found a great deal to support gender dysphoria) I wonder how people that are supposedly committed to rights are so earnest in being arseholes to an obviously vulnerable group of fellow humans.

It's because Bergdorf is male. Bergdorf can believe whatever he likes. Other people are not obliged to agree. Forcing them to lie is wrong. I'd give that a bit of thought.

Surely the word he isn't an insult when he is that. I could insist on being called Your Majesty but it's not true

The whole issue confuses me A. Whole. Bunch. However, some basic research tells me that the jury's out. It tells me that there's significant research to suggest that it's a thing.

So, assuming that you know something the scientific community don't, if you're persisting in denying it's a thing, you're ideologically committed to it not being a thing.

Nobody is denying gender dysphoria. What they are denying is that a male person is magically a female person when they do suffer from dysphoria

When you admit you haven't done very much research on the subject, what makes you assume you know better than those who have? Those who found (to pick a study at random) that Transgender Identifying Males did not have similar brain structure to females? Or those who found that the area of the brain that seems to be related to transgenderism appears to be the same area of the brain related to anorexia nervousa?

Bullying and abusing women wont get them to call a penis a male clitoris. I'm probably like most of the women here; I call my friends 'she' if they prefer, out of respect for them. We have a relationship.

Whatever the cause of gender dysphoria turns out to be, it does not alter the fact that there is only so much people can do to accommodate men who are uncomfortable with themselves.

But when you call a Transwoman 'he', you are making a claim. Your claim is that the whole issue is bogus.

When you find an article proving that TIMs are female, read the research that the article is actually about. 99% of the time (figure obviously pulled out of my arse for effect before you comment on it) what the article is reporting isn't what the research actually found.

Nobody is claiming the issue is bogus. They are "claiming" - as much as one can claim a fact - that male bodied people aren't female.
