White women- it's all your fault

WeldMeDaphne · 19/08/2017 22:27

I will preface this by saying that I am indeed a white woman. And I realise this affords me a lot of privilege.
Among a lot of the rhetoric around the Events unfolding in the US (mostly Charlottesville), I've seen a number of open letters to white women about our complicity in the neo-nazi and white supremacist movement in the US and elsewhere. Clearly those women marching last week on the nazi side were white, but there was a lot of suggestion that those white women not marching but associated with men marching (wives girlfriends etc) were just as culpable as the men wielding torches and assault rifles. I guess I would like some help understanding how this is a white woman issue rather than the white men being responsible for their own actions? I get that one of those pieces said those men are going home to pie cooked by their doting wives but I just feel as though a man who holds those views and has no issue with demonstrating them publically is unlikely to be a caring loving husband?
I am fully prepared to listen to all view points and I totally understand that the people on these marches are white, but they're mostly men, right? Sonhow is this women's fault?

💋 mucho

Gonegonegone · 21/08/2017 23:04

I can't copy your posts, I have disabilities that make technology to confusing, but I quoted what you said carefully do you can check if you care to.

muchomo · 21/08/2017 23:08

Actually Gone, you have repeatedly quoted me incorrect edit and twisted my words repeatedly to fit your narrative. You seemed to manage that quite fine. My only request is that if you refer to what I'm saying you quote me directly and accurately. You have also used your misquotes to accuse me of a number of things on your previous posts, which is shameful quite frankly.

muchomo · 21/08/2017 23:10

A number of untrue things I might add to try and discredit my views. Right off to watch Gamr of Thrones

MotherPeresA · 21/08/2017 23:12

Sarah Ditum... I have every confidence she totally understands what it's like to be shit on other people's shoes. Nowhere to turn, exploited at every turn... Not to pick on her specifically, but all those highly-educated, Starbucks class, white people that write about the big nasty world "we" are living. We?

Next time you really relate to something one of these people writes, reflect on why that might be.

Gonegonegone · 21/08/2017 23:13

I can't remember ever being on another thread with you. I took the time to carefully repeat what you said.

You also never addressed my first post to you but I'm not spitting the dummy out. Clearly you have an issue with me, I have zero idea who you are.

Gonegonegone · 21/08/2017 23:15

And I just politely explained why I can not copy and paste your post, but ignore my disabilities my all means

WeldMeDaphne · 21/08/2017 23:18

I don't really know who you're arguing with Mother PeresA. As you are keen to point out, my life experiences to date are what makes me part of the "Starbucks class". So yeah, Sarah Ditum makes a lot of sense to me. Doesn't make the experiences we have as women any less valid, just different. However big lol at "Starbucks class". Like wtf does that even mean 😂

muchomo · 21/08/2017 23:36

Gone I'm politely pointing out that you repeatedly misquoted me and twisted my words.

I'm not inhibiting your disabilities, I'm simply saying that if you can do the above you can quote me correctly that is all.

muchomo · 21/08/2017 23:36

*Ignoring

MotherPeresA · 21/08/2017 23:48

You can relate to Ditum, but have no idea what I'm banging on about.

Yup.

I'll leave you to your valid experiences of privilege.

Probably like Muchomo, I only came here to avoid GoT spoilers.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 00:38

Very interesting read I still stand by what I posted these women made a choice to be with these men. What nice woman or teenage girl is going to have racist views of hate. Was this thread put together for people to feel sorry for the white women supremacists. I feel sorry that you feel that way I will never see any good in those women.

SylviaPoe · 22/08/2017 00:53

What would you suggest should be done about women who are the partners of, or the mothers of white supremacists?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 22/08/2017 01:12

What would you suggest should be done about women who are the partners of, or the mothers of white supremacists?

I'm not seeing an answer here. I'm not following why it is up to white female supremacists to police or seek to change or accept responsibility for male white supremacists. Each is as bad as the other.

I'm also not following why it is the responsibility of women who are white but are not white supremacist women to deal with these groups.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 01:36

It's the community and the country that has to fight against these men and women supremacists. Give them nothing if they have shop don't buy from them. If you walk past them in the street don't say hello to them.

SylviaPoe · 22/08/2017 01:50

What about if they're under 18? Do you think mothers should put teens into care if they have white supremacist views?

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 01:52

They are taking up valuable air treat them with the contempt they deserve.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 02:00

Sylvia your alright tonight what's in it for you. Any good mother and father would bring up their child up to have empathy and to respect others. If a child grows up to be hateful, spiteful raisists then who is to blame then. Remember when a baby is born they are innocent it's their environment that is toxic. They are brought up to think like that.

SylviaPoe · 22/08/2017 02:21

'Sylvia your alright tonight what's in it for you.'

I don't know what that means.

There seem to be very many young people who are from decent homes who become radicalised online.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 02:48

Just because a home looks decent doesn't mean they don't have ignorant views. Do you have to act and dress a certain way to be considered decent. There's a lot of two faced people out there who smile to your face and then call you scum behind your back.

SylviaPoe · 22/08/2017 02:57

Well, condemning the families of wrong doers is a feature of fascism, so we seem to have come full circle in this discussion.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 03:08

The judge can put his wig on and show them how to behave.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 03:10

That's what the prison system is there for.

HorridHenryrule · 22/08/2017 03:22

You can call it what you want fascism it means nothing. My partner was the target of two families across the road first the adults then their son. It doesn't affect you so how do you know.

Out2pasture · 22/08/2017 03:28

okay i'm jumping it without reading the full thread
many of the disgruntled men of the world are disgruntled because of the lack of employment. employment that is both fulfilling and reasonable to put food on the table.
the usa like many countries has pockets of very deprived areas (not related to being of colour) and part of the deep seated anger is poverty and the lack of opportunity.
sooooo many of the men are not going home to pie they are going home to runny nosed kids and no money to wash clothing.
