Sigh. So unecessary and also disgusting. Learn to use care products mate.

People who have periods are biologically female.
Simple.

He may identify as male and that's entirely his choice, but the fact remains that he is biologically female and periods are biologically a female process.

VestalVirgin · 16/07/2017 09:18

So as long as it's a women's issue it will be ignored, but if it's something that affects men too people will take notice? (Sadly, this is probably right)

Oh, I am not sure this will convince men to care about menstruations and support free pads and tampons for all. I mean, actual men still know that they have a 0% chance of ever having a menstruation.

That photo is seriously odd. I don't get it- if the point is to pass and be treated as a man, then pointing out that you still have periods and therefore are in fact a woman seems...self defeating at best? What a confused person.

After transwomen invaded female spaces while looking like perfectly normal men; and with slogans like "some women have penises" transmen now think they can do the same; but of course, they are completely deluded. If they ever had talked to a radical feminist (which they avoid like the plague) they'd know it doesn't work like that, that men oppress women under patriarchy and while men can invade women's spaces by force, women can only get into men's spaces by (successful!) deception.

They're a bunch of deluded, misogynist self-haters, and will never achieve their goals, because they are completely bonkers.

I would understand if some women transed themselves to get all that sweet, sweet male privilege. Some might think the health risks of being on artificial hormones all your life are worth it if you get male privilege for it.

However, most FtT do not seem to be doing it for that reason. I know of a number of very famous women (who managed to become famous while female) who transed after reaching the peak of their fame; some ruining their career in the process (at least one famous singer who took testosterone ... bye bye voice that everyone knew. Who knows whether the new male voice is as good ...)

And then there's the nonbinaries who attack every women who correctly identifies them as female like rabid dogs. They sure as hell don't get male privilege, because they are very easily identified as female, many not having made any changes to their body.

I don't know what they do about males who correctly identify them as female and harrass them - probably run away crying and then write an angry blog post about "terfs" whom they somehow manage to blame for it. Because radical feminists are witches and conjure sexist men from the inner circles of hell to serve them ... or something.

msrisotto · 16/07/2017 09:28

Yes I was shocked by the dirty bitch comment - wtf??

And this tweet/picture is just another thing that peak trans's the general population. It just takes the goodwill of people who want to live and let live too far. Women don't have penises and men don't have periods. That is just one of those immutable facts. If it makes some people unhappy well tough! Get therapy because it ain't changing because you wish it to be so.

I recently heard that if a trans man dies of ovarian cancer or another woman-only disease, their sex at death is recorded as female, as the system doesn't allow them to say a man has died of ovarian cancer. Apparently this is OUTRAGEOUS. Have to admit, I found it hard to get really worked up.

Actually, I do think they should record those deaths as transman deaths from ovarian cancer.

Because it is unfair and factually incorrect to make girls and women who do not inject artificial testosterone into their bodies worried about their ovarian cancer risk, when it is likely that artificial testosterone elevates the risks.

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that we should not separate between women and men anymore, but between women and non-women. And not only because the medical risks of a testosterone-drugged woman are quite different.

Transmen are quite successful at imitating male type violence and aggression levels, even those who don't take testosterone (though there the aggression could be caused by having their delusion challenged, but the effect remains the same), and I really don't want to have them in women's spaces.

I used to say they should use the changing rooms and toilets for their actual sex, but since I was attacked by some female to trans people, I have changed my opinion. I don't want them anywhere near me when I am vulnerable, such as when under the shower. (Don't fancy having to fight off a rabid trans who tries to strangle me while naked and covered in soap.)

I agree, but I also want consistency. So a third option is the only way to go.

Male facilities. Female facilities. Unisex. Unisex should be compulsory for trans.

amousehaseatenmypaddlingpool · 16/07/2017 09:56

Of course, they don't have to worry about someone seeing them bleed #maleprivilege

PencilsInSpace · 16/07/2017 09:58

Well gosh there's all sorts of things going on here!

  • she's a deluded woman, obviously
  • twitter is full of vile misogynists. The reaction she got is mostly because she posted a picture of her period blood. Any 'free bleeding' picture would have got a similar response I think
  • she does seem from her time line to do a lot of campaigning around more serious issues like world menstrual hygiene day and the tampon tax. It doesn't seem to be all about her, although this current tweet is an unhelpful distraction
  • cold salty water

I too am enjoying all the wash tips...very informative

HoneyDragon · 16/07/2017 10:53

Yet only females are instructed what to think.

QueenLaBeefah · 16/07/2017 10:55

Those trousers can't be saved and are now only fit for the bin.

paxillin · 16/07/2017 11:09

Meat tenderizer works a treat on stains like this.

coffeecoffee14 · 16/07/2017 11:41

Irene that's interesting. I do think there should be a 3rd option for sex at death (like trans man/women) too.

coffeecoffee14 · 16/07/2017 11:42

*woman

VestalVirgin · 16/07/2017 11:46

Male facilities. Female facilities. Unisex. Unisex should be compulsory for trans.

Yes, that's probably for the best.

The trans lobby would never agree to have separate facilities for female and male trans. Unisex will put non-passing female trans at risk, but it is a choice they make - better they only choose risk for themselves than for all women.

AssassinatedBeauty · 16/07/2017 11:46

coffee how about another category of "gender presentation, if any" as well as sex? Because someone's sex at death will always be the same as their sex at birth. Their gender presentation could be different of course.

demirose87 · 16/07/2017 12:00

This reminds me of the female athlete who ran a marathon on her period without any sanitary protection, to prove the point that periods aren't a taboo subject and that she was empowered by it. Unnecessary and also disgusting. We all know women have periods and its nothing to be ashamed of, but no one needs to see your blood soaked pants..A transgender woman whos hasn't gone through the full process to become male will have periods, that's no surprise, so I'm not sure what he was trying to prove with that picture.

VestalVirgin · 16/07/2017 12:04

Assassinated, gender presentation is too fuzzy, they should truthfully record "Female, hysterectomy, testosterone", for example, or "male, castrated, estrogen use" - there's no need for a different category for males who "present feminine" by wearing dresses and make-up, for example.

There should be a third sex category for intersex, possibly - intersex conditions differ, so not all intersex people are the same, but if a doctor knows the person with possible heart attack symptoms is intersex, they'll know to watch out for female and male symptoms. I feel like intersex people are thrown under the bus when it comes to medical issues.

People born clearly female or male can make changes to their bodies, which will be important to know for medical professionals, but a "transwoman" like Danielle Muscato will have very different medical problems from a male who is castrated and takes estrogen. So lumping them together would be doing them a disservice. (Which I don't care about in "Danielle's" case, but would for some genuinely dysphoric transwomen)

VestalVirgin · 16/07/2017 12:08

This reminds me of the female athlete who ran a marathon on her period without any sanitary protection, to prove the point that periods aren't a taboo subject and that she was empowered by it.

Um, no, as far as I remember she accidentally started her period while running, and didn't want to stop just because of her period.
Thinking "Okay, all women have periods, and many had their trousers stained accidentally, it is no big deal and I want to complete the marathon" is different from "Oh, I will put on white trousers and soil them with menstruation blood on purpose to make a completely ridiculous and irrational point."

Even if the athlete had done it on purpose, it would be very different from this. Women have periods, that's a valid point (and some males seem to have entirely forgotten the fact and need reminding of it, tbh), whereas ... men do not have periods, and trying to make that point is beyond ridiculous.

AssassinatedBeauty · 16/07/2017 12:13

If it's this woman marathon runner, it sounds like it was a deliberate decision:

www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/heres-why-i-ran-the-london-marathon-on-the-first-day-of-my-period-and-chose-not-to-wear-a-tampon-10455176.html

demirose87 · 16/07/2017 12:26

It was intentional, she purposely did it to prove a point. If it was accidental, that's another thing entirely.

VestalVirgin · 16/07/2017 12:58

Ok, I might be misremembering it. But still don't think it is the same.

Attention needs to be drawn to the fact that pads and tampons are not optional but a basic need of girls and women, and buying them should not leave girls and women poorer than males with the same income.

I think some women walking around without tampons is a good thing because it alerts men to the fact of how life would look if women just refused to spend money on pads and tampons - not pretty!

Whereas I am quite sure no actual man will look at this deluded woman and think "Oh, shit, young men are suffering from period poverty, too! I better go donate some money so they can be given pads and tampons for free! Those are my people! I need to support my fellow males!"

daisychain01 · 16/07/2017 13:02

Thank God I've never had the misfortune to see any of that crap in RL, tedious. You are right Feral , utterly barking.

Doesn't he know anything - he should be wearing tight white jeans and on roller skates if he wants to be a Real Wumun.

MargeryFenworthy · 16/07/2017 13:04

Infuriating, offensive and downright tedious at this stage. I am tired of this pro-trans agenda everywhere. It is against my beliefs as a Christian but more than that it aggravates me as a woman.

demirose87 · 16/07/2017 13:15

Yes I agree it's not pretty, the fact he's doing it to prove a point seems silly when I don't see what the point is he's making. He may identify as male but if he has female anatomy, he will still menstruate, as he is still biologically female, so he doesn't need to sit there showing off his blood to the world. Whether you identify as male or female, it's gross and unhygienic to do this.
