Oh actually I do - What The Fuck?!

I understand that some transmen will have periods - but why is it a "thing" to raise awareness of? Why not just go and buy your tampons from Superdrug and go about your day? Please don't tell me he's campaigning for tampons to be kept by the Lynx deodorants in the men's aisle?

ijustwannadance · 16/07/2017 00:40

Those pants need soaking in salt water asap.

elephantoverthehill · 16/07/2017 00:42

I think the pants and the trousers will need a good soaking! Grin

HicDraconis · 16/07/2017 00:42

Some women and girls (genetic XX humans) have menstrual cycles. Some women and girls don't, either through having had surgery or having endocrine conditions that affect hormonal production. However, not having a period doesn't stop them being women.

No men or boys (genetic XY humans) have menstrual cycles. None.

It's not difficult.

OlennasWimple · 16/07/2017 00:43

Can't find anything on Twitter using the hashtag in the photo Hmm

ShakingAndShocked · 16/07/2017 00:44

Staggered that everyone above is still standing.... Give them a minute huh? They'll soon be here calling you names for your calling out this bollocks (no pun intended).

Women have periods. If you have periods, you are not a man. Anyone who is irked by that inconvenient truth should focus their ire at 'exclusion' to the millions of people living genuinely repressed lives; to the gazillion girls not receiving an education.

Oh, and support the tampon tax campaign for us women who bleed.

ShakingAndShocked · 16/07/2017 00:47

Also that is a seriously staged 'bleed' given that when you leak like a tap it's your arse that gets covered.

PlymouthMaid1 · 16/07/2017 00:47

That picture is quite disturbing as well as a ridiculous premise.

sooperdooper · 16/07/2017 00:49

OlennasWimple Just search the name, not with a hashtag, I found it just now

AssignedMentalAtBirth · 16/07/2017 00:49

And not everyone who has a brain knows how to use it

sooperdooper · 16/07/2017 00:52

The picture proves that no matter how you 'identify' biology is still the main factor and even though this person must 'identify' as a male biologically they're female as they're having a period, so that contradicts the whole trans idea that biological sex (and not gender) is a social construct Confused

NeedsAsockamnesty · 16/07/2017 00:54

That's going to be a bugger to wash out

I haven't washed my own laundry since a rather odd September Tuesday back in 1990,

And even I know it won't be. Cold salt water is how you get blood out of fabric

elephantoverthehill · 16/07/2017 00:56

Shakingandshocked I am glad that you agree with my comment up thread. Only a woman would know.

PovertyPain · 16/07/2017 00:58

FFS! George Orwell didn't see that one coming! 😂

AssignedMentalAtBirth · 16/07/2017 01:00

LOL at the stain washing tips

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/07/2017 01:02

I love that people want to dress how they like, act how they like, expand the things we are 'allowed' to do.

But there used to be a name for someone who bled, had breasts, ovulated, bore children, breastfed or any combination of those; woman. There were also words for people who wanted to wear skirts, bake cupcakes, wear heels, giggle and drink prosecco; feminine for example. Then drinking beer while scratching and watching football; masculine. Not perfect, not all-descriptive but they worked.

Now words don't mean anything. We need a word for people who menstruate. What exactly was wrong with woman?

twattymctwatterson · 16/07/2017 01:10

Do you think vanish will get that out? 🤔

FastWomanStanding · 16/07/2017 01:13

Didn't young people used to get excited about worthy causes other than themselves - same sex marriage, refugees, racism, homeless people, house elves etc?

Now instead we have a self obsession that ironically reverses progress made for women over hundreds of years, whilst simultaneously sidelining genuinely transgender people that just want to get on with it. Exhausting.

And yes, I agree, if you've got time to spend on this bollocks, do something useful like raise money for women that can't afford sanitary protection, which I doubt this self obsessed idiot can't.

NeedsAsockamnesty · 16/07/2017 01:14

Nope, I'm reliably informed by a friend who regularly gets covered in blood for work reasons that on large quantities of blood vanish just sort of makes it go yellow

This to me is so perfectly put I want to get it printed on a t shirt and wear it.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/07/2017 01:19

Eurgh.
This person looks old enough to have had a good few menstrual cycles so did they just "forget" it was Day 28 and put on light trousers with no protection?

No matter what gender they are embracing that is vile in the extreme.
Gross and show-offey.

Note the male legs apart pose too Hmm

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 16/07/2017 01:20

YY FastWoman

In my day it was nuclear disarmament and apartheid.

Completely agree with this : "Now instead we have a self obsession that ironically reverses progress made for women over hundreds of years, whilst simultaneously sidelining genuinely transgender people that just want to get on with it. Exhausting. "

FeralBeryl · 16/07/2017 01:27

I appreciate this observation in the comments Grin

It is all very exhausting isn't it.
Have many posters here met anyone in RL so Fucking barking mad convince that this is ok?

I actually should've said only women and girls can have periods!

Am glad they didn't ask me if I do because if I told them I'd had a hysterectomy they would want to know why!
