I don't think Tonithetampon is getting quite the response they wanted ... many are pointing out that this really is mental illness. Or just laughing at them.

Well, who knew - a bit of menstrual blood is all it takes for the Twitterati to remember that biology does, in fact, exist.

Sigh
Everyone who menstruates is female. Every single one. Call yourself a transman and identify as whatever you wish but being female is the thing that all menstruating humans have in common.
You want to destroy the meaning of the word woman? Good for you. But you can't have female. No way never.

ShoesHaveSouls · 16/07/2017 03:25

This is delusional.

Men have penises. Men don't menstruate. Men don't give birth.

OlennasWimple · 16/07/2017 03:44

This Huff Post article by Cass sets out some more of her thinking... The bit that really really pisses me off is the assertion that " If we are going to bring periods into the spotlight, we need to ensure that we’re creating space for all menstruators, not just those who identify as women." So as long as it's a women's issue it will be ignored, but if it's something that affects men too people will take notice? (Sadly, this is probably right)

I was trying to think of a suitable response but can't so i will just go with Fuck off....

DixieFlatline · 16/07/2017 04:28

Did I just see someone calling another woman a 'dirty bitch' due to some menstrual blood in FWR, for fuck's sake?

Yes, the picture is of a woman. Yes, the campaign seems misplaced. But Jesus Christ, blood is not disgusting and what the fuck are you doing here if you think it's acceptable to shame someone's bodily functions and call her a bitch to boot? Vile.

On the bleeding at the front vs. back question, when I used pads I always leaked at the far back. When using tampons or nothing, I leak at the front/middle.

coffeecoffee14 · 16/07/2017 05:54

One word - disturbing.

Of course only women menstruate. Only women have a uterus hence only women are capable of it😂

coffeecoffee14 · 16/07/2017 05:56

Sex and gender are 2 different things though. When I say women I mean biological women.

QueenLaBeefah · 16/07/2017 06:29

No matter how much her brain is telling her she is a man every 28 days her body is reminding her that she is a woman.

The whole trans movement is so self obsessed it is unbelievable. Can't she do something like raise money for the millions of women globally who can't go to school because they can't afford sanitary protection instead of concentrating on herself all the time? I do think the whole trans movement goes hand in hand with the raging narcissism social media has unleashed with teenagers taking multiple selfies all day.

PoochSmooch · 16/07/2017 06:32

Yeah, dixie, my eyebrows shot into my hairline at that too. Uncalled for.

That photo is seriously odd. I don't get it- if the point is to pass and be treated as a man, then pointing out that you still have periods and therefore are in fact a woman seems...self defeating at best? What a confused person.

I wonder if this is going to make men, actual men, take notice. That Twitter thread is full of men being outraged.

I can't see many men being perfectly happy getting lumped in with this particular campaign.

And I still think this is largely being pushed by transwomen (not transmen).

What do you transmen again? Presumably if they have gender dysphoria they want to ignore their menstruation, not have it re-packaged, marketed, and talked about by the general public.

Whereas transwomen will be delighted if women, actual women, lose this identifier.

You're not a woman, you're a menstruator. That's the goal.

Collidascope · 16/07/2017 07:50

"I wonder if this is going to make men, actual men, take notice. That Twitter thread is full of men being outraged."

This was my thought too. No one is backing her up. It's quite a contrast to the few transwomen's Twitter accounts where they make similar outlandish statements about women having cocks, and everyone agrees that that's fine. My first reaction was, "So it's ok for any man who wants to to claim womanhood but women can't claim manhood? I wonder why that is..."

Maybe however I'm being oversensitive and it's just that the TAs aren't aware of this account or something.

QueenLaBeefah · 16/07/2017 08:26

That's because we are now in a world of men and non-men and transmen would be categorised under the non-men section.

Datun · 16/07/2017 08:30

Transwomen who have a particular kink, will try and mimic periods. It's all over the Internet. You can buy menstruation kits. YouTube videos on shoving a Tampax, God knows where.

It's a fetish.

Deliberately blurring the lines between which sex menstuates seems to me like a stupid, sex game for transwomen. It's not a passive thing. It's not a defence of something. It's an active push, sexually motivated.

If transmen are uncomfortable with their periods, what's the point in going online to shout about it? Just ignore it as best you can.

Pretending that men have periods is a mistake. Firstly because, no they don't. Secondly because you are now taking on the other half of the population. I really can't see them being happy with a policy being written where they are being addressed in terms of menstruation.

Even writing it down looks ridiculous.

Except we know this sort of nonsense happens.

Shall we rename Men's Health Magazine, Ejaculators' Weekly, because women have prostates too?

SerfTerf · 16/07/2017 08:31

Yes.

Well, the Twitter thread just shows how alive and well misogyny is and how "transphobia" is bullshit. People piling on to call them names and tell them they are mental.
Yet the lovely Danielle can complain about being cat called and post photos of themselves in a dress and it's just fawning. Not one "you are mentally ill". Ugh

I feel sorry for trans men. Trying to get a social justice movement to treat them the same as trans women, but guess what? The males get taken more seriously than the females.
I think Toni should forget being trans, they make a very attractive woman imo

Badcat666 · 16/07/2017 08:48

She is female as she a female reproductive system. Not rocket science. Not even brain surgery.

If she wants to be a "male" then why doesn't she have her womb and Fallopian tubes and ovaries removed and quit whining about having periods? Then have surgery to create a penis?

But then she won't have anything to complain about.

DumbledoresArmy · 16/07/2017 08:49

Who wears that colour trousers when your period is due?

IrenetheQuaint · 16/07/2017 08:56

I recently heard that if a trans man dies of ovarian cancer or another woman-only disease, their sex at death is recorded as female, as the system doesn't allow them to say a man has died of ovarian cancer.

Apparently this is OUTRAGEOUS. Have to admit, I found it hard to get really worked up.

0ccamsRazor · 16/07/2017 09:05

This non issue is so tedious

I demand the right to be a dodo, from now on I will dress like a dodo and live like a dodo, I am a dodo. Being the only dodo alive on this planet, I am entitled to special only dodo in the world treatment of wonderful only dodo things.
