Boycotting a national transport network because their driver called them "Sir" (they are 6ft 6 with stubble)

Identifying as a "nympho slut chick" on social media and insisting that they are reclaiming the word slut when pulled up on it.

Insisting that they are "100% feminine female biological woman".

Also "reclaiming" the word dyke.

Denouncing all and sundry for transphobia on a daily basis.

They have autism and I'm absolutely CONVINCED this is at the root of this particular obsession/delusion but sadly they've found a whole community online and to some extent in RL who are encouraging it.

And yeah I'm using "they" which doesn't come easy at all. I don't really know what else I can do and still maintain some sort of family relationship. They will one day be my responsibility as our parents had him very late (I'm much older) and they may well never be able to live fully independently. I cannot become estranged but FFS!!

Not very. Luckily I live 200 miles away at the moment so we manage to keep it civil. Just.

I'm just baffled by the way people are applauding and encouraging someone who's actually quite vulnerable due to their disability, I mean it's clearly delusional and they're no more a woman than my fucking cactus plant collection is, but obviously this isn't something that's acceptable to say anymore!

The link between autism and transgender beliefs is an interesting and increasing one. It seems to be a sort of projection of social dis-ease, i think.

Yes there is a lot of research going on into the autism and transgender link. You have my sympathy, that sounds very difficult.

To me it's really obvious that this is the latest obsession. Since this started (maybe 18 months ago but only in the last 6 months has it really ramped up) a lot of their previous obsessive behaviours have died down and been replaced by this.

But they've found a community where whatever they claim is accepted without question and they are backed up by dozens of other TAs in everything they say and do. It's grim watching.

Hi all, I'm new here. I joined out of growing frustration with aggressive transactivism, especially targeting children. I agree with the person who said we need to organise, but since everyone uses pseudonyms on this site I'm finding it hard to envisage how that might work.
I live (clearly) in Amsterdam, which has certain advantages and certain disadvantages, as far as campaigning in the UK is concerned.
Has such a group been formed yet? I'd love to get together (virtually) with like-minded people to take this further.

My similarly vulnerable niece is also transgender, identifying as a young man since early teens. Interestingly also 'self-identifies' as having Aspbergers, although there isn't a formal diagnosis. Very connected to a big online community of like-minded young men and women. Heavy subscriber to SJW jargon and ideology, forever 'calling people out' for perceived transfobia and othering, random strangers and authors of articles on any given subject, for not using gender neutral language etc. It feels like a massive opportunity to revel in being 'right', and 'fluent' in transideology double-speak. Constant reminders of how much more likely they are to commit suicide than 'cis' teens. I love them and really worry about their future. I genuinely don't know what to do. I worry they are about to make a huge mistake when they begin hormone treatment soon after their 18th birthday next month.

So sorry to hear this, AdultHumanFemale. I wonder if there is a community of people who changed their minds, who could provide different input? (or their parents). They must be out there, since I've read that 80% of TG kids 'desist', as they say. But perhaps they are hard to find, eager to move on and perhaps not wanting to be reminded of that chapter of their lives... Good luck with your niece!

I got my fair share of death threats of people I had mistakenly assumed where something like friends, who had no problem at all with being treated as their actual sex before they knew that was what I was doing. And who were shocked and surprised to find that I actually know about actual biology.

But that someone would threaten their own parents surprises me. Only a bit, though.

Right now, if the Radch invaded earth (Imperial Radch Trilogy, really cool series) and announced that we have to assimilate into their culture or die, I'd welcome them with open arms. They have no concept of gender, only one pronoun for everyone, so at least it would put an end to this shit.

To be fair, the police wanted me to press charges, but I declined as I thought my son had experienced a psychotic episode and would be treated appropriately by the mental health crisis team. It was the mental health crisis team that discharged him saying "he was just angry". The Domestic Violence team were and still are incredibly supportive, they get it and are furious with the mental health team and tried their best to intervene. But as you know the NHS have bought into this hook, line and sinker....

Are you getting psychological help because of this? It must be traumatic to have your own son attack you.
(I just remembered that you really should get help because I read an article on how psychological trauma can affect physical health - and I felt physically sick after being attacked by transactivists online already ...)

I never knew there were so many emotions that one could feel in such a condensed space of time, I think I reached the limit about an hour ago without having a heart attack.... the only thing left is to draw a line under it knowing everything that could be done was tried (and failed) and to try to pick up the pieces and move forward.
