I didn't say that I agreed with what he was saying, just that it wasn't wrong (or right) simply because HE (an unarguably bad, bad person) was saying it - it should be judged on its own merits.
I'm not sure if it's your posting style, but as it was me who misinterpreted/didn't get your earlier comment, then I have to say that I don't get this one either. Because it still sounds like you agree with his premise, or at least think it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Which is kind of astonishing, given that he's portraying himself as a victim here...? And is in fact, very near the top of the list of male public figures who should never, ever be venturing the slightest public opinion on women and rape just as the merest nod to being a decent human being.
