Sex positivity was initially put forward as a means of removing the historical taboo of women making their own decisions about their sex life and what they wanted from it.
So being promiscuous should not be morally judged, fetishes are fine as long as they don't harm anyone, etc.
Sex work is a woman's decision and shouldn't be questioned, etc.
Except that's not how it pans out in real life.
Sex work should be scrutinised, and questioned. Morality is not something that lies with the worker, it lies with the punter. Anything else just plays straight into the hands of the pimps and traffickers.
And whilst promiscuity and fetishes are of course an individual's own choice, a 'movement' in their name can, and has, culturally evolved into pressure on women.
Almost every single article will reiterate how informed consent is essential and you should never do anything you don't want to do. And then always goes on to tell you to educate yourself.
And stop 'slut shaming' other women.
It may have started as a benign way of empowering women, but has ended up 'prude shaming'.
Anyone who didn't see this coming is either male, or naive.
