The BBC's political equivalent of Jeremy Kyle is hosting "has the time come to decriminalise sex work" tomorrow morning.

I'm going to be in the audience; if anyone wants to support the Nordic model voice via twitter please do!

HoldBackTheRain - since you're so willing to endanger women for fun, how do you feel about putting yourself on all the bone marrow/kidney/liver/lung donation lists? After all, that's putting yourself at risk to save someone - must be better than putting someone else at risk so you can ejaculate right?

How about allowing people to buy kidneys? That'd be fine right? Not exploitative at all, poor people totally wouldn't be coerced into it by rich people would they?

venusinscorpio · 02/04/2017 18:52

Haha I missed that Grin

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 18:53

Gender you're wasting your time trying to reason here. Choc & Venus have showed how narrow minded they are but out of interest what do you both think about people with disabilities paying for sex?

Please add me to the "narrow minded " list too.

No one should have the right to buy sex. Gender is not "reasoning" with anyone. He is a punter. He is attempting to try to convince us, and failing, that punters should not be treated with the contempt they deserve.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 18:54

Interestingly I know one sex worker who was contacted by a deaf guy about sex. She replied saying she was not comfortable with a guy who could not hear her say no, so he contacted the local council and reported her for discrimination.

The council called her up and took his side. They seemed to think he had the same right to a sex life.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 18:55

The BBC's political equivalent of Jeremy Kyle is hosting I'm sorry I'm not having the lovely Nicky Campbell described like that

Yes , that is very unfair. I knew Nicky at university- he was a nice guy.

venusinscorpio · 02/04/2017 18:56

If posters feel so strongly that disabled people should have a sex life, perhaps they should set up some sort of voluntary scheme? And put themselves on the list, obviously. How about it Hold?

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 18:57

I reckon Jeremy would pay for sex. Nicky never in a month of sundays

venusinscorpio · 02/04/2017 18:58

The council called her up and took his side. They seemed to think he had the same right to a sex life.

And you think that's a good thing? That women can't turn people down for any reason they wish? That is non consensual.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 18:59

I would gladly whore myself out to disabled women. Where do I sign up?

venusinscorpio · 02/04/2017 19:00

You need to set up the scheme. Don't expect other people to do all the work for you!

ChocChocPorridge · 02/04/2017 19:01

And men Gender - you don't want to be discriminatory after all.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 19:01

No Venus I took her side. I even side with the women who specify they will not sleep with certain races. When it comes to sex they should be allowed to discriminate by age, race, whatever

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 19:01

The council called her up and took his side. They seemed to think he had the same right to a sex life

I don't believe this happened.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 19:03

They just asked politely. Clearly they could not put any kind of pressure.

MaximilianNero · 02/04/2017 19:09

As a disable person:

  • Disabled people have a right to a sexual identity, but not a right to sex. We have no less of a responsibility to not exploit people than non-disabled people
  • Some disabled sex buyers need carers with them at certain times or all the time. The carer is thus forced to participate against their will in a sexual situation, as they HAVE to watch the sexual intercourse if the disabled person cannot be left unattended. This is wholly unacceptable.
  • Some prostitutes who have seen clients with a learning disability (payed for the clients family) have expressed concerns that the client was too intellectually disabled to consent to sex. This is also unacceptable.
  • Disabled people deserve better than to be discussed in a way that suggests we are so unattractive and unloveable that no one would want us as a sexual partner unless we payed them.

Ooh my big hairy chin.
What absolute steaming bullshit

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 19:18

Max. I agree it is really offensive to rope in people with physical disabilities in this way to attempt to validate prostitution.

They just asked politely. Clearly they could not put any kind of pressure

Prostitution is pacta illicita. They should have politely told him to fuck off. They should never have considered his claim. They have no obligation to.

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 19:19

Well put Maximilian. Does that rule out ever paying for sex?

As someone who pays I am of the opinion that with the right sex provider, sex can be beneficial to both parties. If I can make the sex worker orgasm is that still exploitative?

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/04/2017 19:21

And I agree with Quentin - bullshit

GenderEqualityAdvocate · 02/04/2017 19:21

Maybe it is because she is down with HMRC as an "alternative therapist". So a legitimate business but he was clear that he wanted sex

Seachangeshell · 02/04/2017 19:24

gender they don't enjoy having sex with you. Don't kid yourself.

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 02/04/2017 19:27

I do like to be polite on mumsnet

gender please go forth in a stream of yellow fluid

QuentinSummers · 02/04/2017 19:27

If I can make the sex worker orgasm is that still exploitative?
Eeewwww.
Yes. Orgasm is neither here nor there. You are paying someone who would not fuck you ordinarily. If she comes, that means nothing at all other than she wanted an orgasm. To her you may as well be a vibrator.
I expect most of the time it's faked anyway.

MaximilianNero · 02/04/2017 19:28

Actually I do believe Gender's story. It strikes me as exactly the kind of thing a council worker would do.

Sorry for DM link but Councils have gone as far as to fund disabled people's purchase of prostitutes. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1303273/Councils-pay-disabled-visit-prostitutes-lap-dancing-clubs.html

whoputthecatout · 02/04/2017 19:32

Nothing makes me as happy as sex.

Well, you saw the solution further the thread. Become a prostitute and rent yourself out. Give your orifices that happy feeling. Lots of sex, you get paid and you don't have to waste your money on a date. Win, win.
