Possibly I'm clutching at straws a bit here, but maybe it's a good thing the Mirror is running stories like this - I mean it's not the Guardian, I imagine most readers will be going "eh? That's a bloke!". But no, really, what a load of mad shit. Man with history of criminal sexual behaviour and multiple personality disorders. Including thinking he's a woman called Jasmine. Which we are apparently supposed to go along with. I'm a long time lurker on these threads but this one has finally moved me to join in (with some blatant misgendering which I'm more than happy to be deleted for).

My first thought as well slerpfreezone. Maybe I am way, but i hust dont think women target othes in this way. It just doesn't add up. That apart from the picture.

He's got a YouTube video. Just don't tell me that there aren't an awful lot of co-morbid issues involved in transgender. A lot of his video is unintelligible, but I think he says his parents were against him when he came out as gay.

The problem is, I wasn't entirely certain from the photograph whether he was male or a female. A lot of people will just think he's a butch looking woman.

These situations makes me feel so lied to, helpless and frustrated. I feel like I'm being gaslighted in a huge way.

The case from last year where a young woman Bethany Hill was tortured and murdered. A young couple were arrested and I remember thinking how awful. They were found guilty a few weeks ago and the woman msn was male, a TW. Why are they allowed to lie like this and mislead the public?

Because reporting guidelines say that gender shouldn't be referred to unless relevant to the case and that care should be taken not to "out" a transgender person. Trans organisations ie trans mediawatch will complain if guidelines are broken.

Yes. But I think more biological women will wake up to the crap they are being fed and organise to protect themselves from being 're-defined out of existence. I just hope it happens soon.

I just wonder how often this happens. We'll never know or how it is affecting women's crime rates. It's like a big fat secret to be hidden from the public. No winer trans activists and allies keep going on about how transwomen never are the perpetrators.

I suppose they tried to get round the guidelines by printing a photograph.

If they keep doing that, as most transwomen don't pass (especially if it's a mugshot) hopefully people will soon wake up.

I'm with some people on another forum - isn't it transphobic to mis-report this person as a woman? Why are they erasing her identity as a transwoman? Why aren't the TAs up in arms at this exclusionary, transmisogynistic reporting?
