They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

Abso-fucking-lately Bambambini!

HeyRoly · 18/02/2017 17:13

I meant abso-fucking-lutely, obviously. DYAC Grin

venusinscorpio · 18/02/2017 17:14

Beyond Grin

I expect they're preparing it as we speak...

BBCNewsRave · 18/02/2017 19:23

BamBambini Seriously... someone should do that. And send it to the Mail.

Glitteryunicorn · 18/02/2017 19:48

I've just been reading up on the gender identity bill how can someone who was the minister for women sponsor a bill which supports the erosion of women's rights?

I thought the video was excellent although the point about the erasure of sex discrimination laws is very sad and scary
I really feel like I need to highlight to my friends as i don't think enough people are aware of it but i don't want to wake any trans trolls that maybe laying dormant on my social media my anxiety can't take it Sad

Twogoats · 19/02/2017 12:07

I know it will help the cause, but I really don't think we should encourage this Ian Huntley thing. He's a monster whom we should give no attention to.

Datun · 19/02/2017 12:16

Twogoats

He is a monster. But that's the point of it.

You need highlight that it is exactly people like him who will exploit the legislation.

It's not about giving publicity to him, it's about showing that the legislation needs to be changed, precisely because of people like him.

Because, make no mistake, the legislation as it stands will allow people like Huntley to eventually leave prison as a woman and straight into women's spaces and a plethora of new victims.

With the full backing of the law.

MercyMyJewels · 19/02/2017 12:20

I wonder what Harriet Harman will think of this..

Datun · 19/02/2017 12:29

So either that school is now co-ed. In which case boys can apply. Or those girls need to be removed and put in either a co-ed school or a boys school.

Either way, the issue will end up being whether it is okay to have an all girls school. The answer will be no. And puff, another female only space disappears.

Datun · 19/02/2017 12:36

And I'm sorry, there needs to be some kind of qualifying here.

Are girls are coming out at a rate of knots and identifying as boys, purely on the basis of being allowed to be flexible with one's gender identity.

Or are they 'born in the wrong body'??

I thought the entire point of the ideology was to help people who, through no fault of their own, had some god-awful accident of biology thrust upon them.

Is that really the cause of half a dozen girls coming out as trans?

I'm certain no one thinks it is. Certainly not the headteacher of that school.

In which case, are we changing legislation based on a horrible accident of birth, or what people feel like doing on a day-to-day basis? Swathes of legislation. Important legislation. Vital legislation. On what a bunch of teenagers feel like doing??

It can't be both.

CharlieSierra · 19/02/2017 12:54

Yep.

And 10 girls at St Paul's, really???? Are we honestly supposed to believe that 10 girls in one school are genuinely suffering with dysphoria? It simply isn't possible.

ludog · 19/02/2017 13:19

I've heard this current epidemic described as social contagion (on MN I think), it's the most accurate description IMO. I really can't believe that there is suddenly such a huge occurrence of gender dysphoria. Whatever happened to the saying "hard cases make poor laws"?

AskBasil · 19/02/2017 13:24

"I wonder what Harriet Harman will think of this.."

Someone pop over and ask her.

venusinscorpio · 19/02/2017 14:17

I totally agree, and despite how batshit and amusing this thread is in parts, it highlights this confusion. We are expected by transactivists and "feminist" sites like EF to give as much consideration to someone calling themselves "cyclogender" or some such narcissistic wankery as we are to someone with gender dysphoria who has medical reasons for wanting to be the opposite sex.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2017 17:06

The way I'm reading that st pauls thing (are there any better sources?), they are allowing the girls to identify their gender as neutral or male but that they are still a single sex school - see the last para, that if any transitioned to become legally male they wouldn't be able to stay. If this distinction between gender identification and legal 'sex change' (transgender v transsexual) remains clear then its not too bad. I'd hope they encourage pupils (except if they get the occasional case of genuine dysphoria) to happily throw off gender stereotypes but be comfortable with their sex.

Datun · 19/02/2017 18:03

I doubt the girls will want to score an own goal by illegally transitioning (although they might, teens are generally partial to a little rebellion).

But what if a boy wants to come to the school who has legally transitioned, not just identified?

So he will be allowed in and if girls legally transition they'll be thrown out.

I do hope someone, somewhere will just see how ludicrous this all is.

Datun · 19/02/2017 18:12

*legally transitioning. Sorry!

MercyMyJewels · 19/02/2017 18:16

"I do hope someone, somewhere will just see how ludicrous this all is."

Somebody needs to Datun. And whichever is the first political party to openly challenge this madness, I swear I will vote for them forever. Even if it is the Tories

(Disclaimer: UKIP don't count) Grin

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2017 18:20

The legal minimum age for GRC is still 18 (though presumably liable to be reduced) so at the moment it would be very unlikely.

MercyMyJewels · 19/02/2017 18:23

Except if you are Susie Green and take your child for surgery in Thailand

Bambambini · 19/02/2017 18:39

Was Susie Green not breaking laws by doing that? Would that not be classed as serious physical abuse?

Bambambini · 19/02/2017 18:40

What about girl's boarding schools where i assume they share rooms?

MercyMyJewels · 19/02/2017 21:16

Well you would think? But no, it appears that to take your child overseas to have life changing surgery not permissible in the UK is perfectly legal

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2017 21:28

FGM isn't.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 19/02/2017 21:37

Susie Green, CEO of Mermaids, reportedly took her son for surgery when he was 16. I imagine that unless he complained to the authorities on his return no one would even be aware it had happened.
