They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

When you read down the EF page, I'd say 1 out of 3 stories are about trans issues, the others about race and disability and other issues, literally nothing about feminist issues such as FGM, menstruation, contraception. They can't post about stuff like that any more as it will incite the rage of the transborg and I suspect at least one of the admins is trans.

One admin would be a very low guess...

WTF is a person with multiple marginalized identities? Is she like James McAvoy in Split?

I think I'd last about five minutes in a room with these people before my head imploded.

Oh dear god that reads like some kind of satire. Don't any of these people have the slightest bit of humour or self-awareness?

Actually I have earlier experience of po-faced American identity politics -I used to belong to an "alternative" parenting online community in the late 90s/early 00s -there was a small breakaway closed group for the saner people later and I have friends from that group to this day. But the original group...everyone was an extended bf'ing attachment parenting non circing vegan bisexual tattooed womyn. Nobody could ever just say "Hi I'm Jill". That was a long time ago; now they would have to add their many genders and binary/cis status as well.

shins · 12/02/2017 18:44

Also note the lack of real education among these people, degrees in completely nonsensical made-up studies. I remember we arts grads used to get teased about the relative uselessness of our degrees but they were in actual subjects like history, literature and languages not an "M.Ed in Human Sexuality" or a "Masters of Comics". Confused

LineysRun · 12/02/2017 18:57

I could send all of that Pseuds Corner in the Eye and get it published.

LineysRun · 12/02/2017 18:57

to Pseuds Corner

"She enjoys rainy days, tattoos, and cats, and probably knows more about Jurassic Park than feminism"

Yes indeed Melissa A Fabello, Managing Editor of Everyday Feminism, I would lay money that that is the case.

whoputthecatout · 12/02/2017 19:13

Well, they all sound very confused to me. They must find it very difficult to decide who they are on any one day.

Twunk · 12/02/2017 19:25

What does "sex positive" mean? Kinky?

TalkingintheDark · 12/02/2017 19:27

venus just lolled at your comment above. I'm with you there.

I just entered a whole new world reading that. Got a horrible feeling it's actually very similar to the old world, in all the worst ways. Fuck. Am speechless!

Did anyone else notice that fun-loving "not biologically male" "lesbian" Riley is 6'4""?

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 19:28

Often yes. But basically I think it means dressing up porn and the sex industry as "empowering" to women. And centring men in everything.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 19:29

I didn't. But there are tons of 6'4" women, so Riley fits right in.

BBCNewsRave · 12/02/2017 19:30

None of them actually seem to be particularly oppressed. I'm sorry, this probably sounds all wrong... but it is really starting to piss me off how all these people seem to have so many cheerleaders and basically live fulfilling lives whilst others of us "with multiple marginalised identities" Hmm are y'know, actually marginalised and struggling. Yes, I am envious - how the fuck do they do it? If I deny all reality and cover myself in glitter will I be welcomed and supported?

shins · 12/02/2017 19:31

How dare they use the word feminism? What on earth has any of that shit got to do with feminism? Everyday Narcissistic Identity Politics Man Pleasing Circle Jerkism more like.

Twunk · 12/02/2017 19:32

Ah yes I understand now Venus - where "feminism" entails things men want you to do anyway. Coincidentally of course.... Hmm

Twunk · 12/02/2017 19:34

I don't think they actually know what oppressed even means. Feminists (real ones) don't want anything from transpeople - we aren't exploiting them for anything - we just want them to leave us the hell alone and stop trying to make out they're the most oppressedest evah.

venusinscorpio · 12/02/2017 19:35

I am triggered by their appropriation of the word "feminism".

BBCNewsRave · 12/02/2017 19:35

And I will add to that - I have looked for feminist groups in my area, as one small step on trying to be less alone and marginalised and they've all been taken over by transactivists. There was even a women's art group that had gone the same way.
