They come up with this.

First post - Why Transwomen Aren't Biologically Male.
www.facebook.com/everydayfeminism/

The comments are encouraging though, that is, the ones that haven't been deleted. Lots of people questioning and calling this out.

I think it's a big problem too. It's immature and simplistic.

DeviTheGaelet · 17/02/2017 12:33

Datun the only other thing I think is missing is we are a progressive society who believe people should be able to live as they want as long as they are hurting no one. On face value and over the years the trans movement is hurting no one. It's only recently that the potential harms are becoming apparent (with the rise in trans children and push for legislative change) but the view that trans people are "born in the wrong body" are entrenched due to societies desire to be tolerant and accepting.
Don't know if that makes sense?

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 17/02/2017 13:33

Yes, I think most people these days think people can believe any weird shit they want to so long as they aren't hurting anyone else.

Lesbians were the first group to be adversely affected, but no one, including the LGBT societies took any notice. It was only lesbians and other feminists who were aware of the harm.

Now, with the involvement of children and the effect on all women of trans activism, the wider world is waking up. I have found that exposing people to some of the facts is often enough to change their views. Let's hope so. Sad

Datun · 17/02/2017 13:48

I am writing again to my MP with all this fresh information, the new links, the new instances of violence, the information about the drugs, the information about the children who are being affected etc.

It's taking me ages, because I want to make sure that what I write is correct, not too sensationalist (although I am not shying away from the ludicrous claims/sexual element), and doesn't come across as frothing in any way.

Also, there is just so much to address.

So yeah, it's taking me along time.

I know everyone is terribly busy, but if you feel capable of doing the same, it can only help.

Datun · 17/02/2017 13:49

Also, this was posted on another thread.

It's so heartfelt and so obviously true I thought I would post it here in case it gets missed.

Why has the thread title been edited by MNHQ? Confused

Are we no longer allowed to call websites ridiculous?

venusinscorpio · 17/02/2017 16:08

Do get a life, whoever reported that Hmm

ifit

I cant remember but calling websites ridiculous may be actual violence... I think, i am getting confused

PencilsInSpace · 17/02/2017 16:24

It was 'Just when you think Everyday Transactivism couldn't get any more ridiculous'

PencilsInSpace · 17/02/2017 16:24

Maybe it's triggering to ridiculous people Sad

venusinscorpio · 17/02/2017 16:25

With the f word, but I doubt that's what anyone was bothered about.

venusinscorpio · 17/02/2017 16:25

I imagine it is, pencils. Ok I'll spare a thought for them. Sad

venusinscorpio · 17/02/2017 16:27

If you read this whole thread, could you really quibble with the word "ridiculous"? Really?

Is 'ridiculous' a banned word? Have MNHQ explained what that was about???

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 17/02/2017 16:29

Can't work out what could be found offensive about the original title. Baffled.

Gallavich · 17/02/2017 16:30

Lol that mumsnet have changed 'ridiculous' to 'surprise' but missed the fact that the site isn't actually called 'everyday transactivism'

I'm going to post on site stuff asking why it has been changed

BarrackerBarma · 17/02/2017 16:37

MNHQ have completely changed their moderation recently.

Banning multiple posters without warning when their posts remain up and within talk guidelines, censoring stuff, threatening permanent bans for ill defined and subjective offences and now re-writing titles?!!!

What on earth is going on? MNHQ is completely different.

MightyMikey · 17/02/2017 16:50

Can't see the reasoning behind the thread title change, or the logic of why someone would complain
Thought I would link a thread in Relationships as some of you might be able to give some sane advice.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 17/02/2017 16:54

I've just had a post deleted on that thread. Feel very sorry for OP's DD.

msrisotto · 17/02/2017 16:59

The title change is fucking weird. I've reported the thread to ask them to comment on why.

MightyMikey · 17/02/2017 17:11

The only thing to be achieved by the change is that it keeps the thread alive with more people posting, so a bit counterproductive to whoever reported.
PoftheP do you know why your post was deleted?
