This may not be the right place or forum for this thread but just in case: I feel music is far too dominated by men. What great songs are there by women? I know most of my favourite songs are by women, I'd love to hear more.

I'm listening to the first Bananarama album ("Deep Sea Skiving") for the first time in years. It's worth a listen - more New Wave meets girl group than their later, SAW stuff.

The Belle Starrs were from the same period, and are also worth a listen.
