Call yourself a feminist? Our transgender columnist Juno Dawson's here to see if you really pass the test

And calls women who don't "TERFs". Thanks, Glamour and Jo Elvin, thanks a lot.

It's the double standards that I find mind boggling, transwomen fear violence in male toilets so want to use women's toilets and don't get why women might fear you?? Why don't the trains activist tackle the attitudes of men? Why are they so hell bent on being viewed as women and so willing to trample over those who don't want to open up women only spaces to male bodied people. Is it too hard to understand that if you allow anyone who self-identifies as a women in to women only spaces, then you can't tackle anyone's right to be in that space, therefore, women only spaces cease to exist.

WhisperingLoudly · 04/11/2016 17:17

Jo Elvin on a webchat would be great

IamNotDarling · 04/11/2016 17:17

How fucking delusional is Juno? Argh! I get the rage when I read bollocks like this.

Don't even get me started on fucking 'cis' and 'terf' Angry

Feminazi · 04/11/2016 17:24

I feel sorry for that poor dog he's holding.

Xenophile · 04/11/2016 17:29

Juno is hardly an expert on being a woman, given that they've been one for only about a year. Therefore they can kiss my womanly arse.

Datun · 04/11/2016 17:29

Not just transwomen in your spaces, ANY man, ANY where who just says he's trans. Come one, come all.

FlapsTie · 04/11/2016 17:35

Could you reach any further to be offended, Juno? Pretty sure this sign means the bogs are for customers only, not whatever twanzphobic spin you're trying to put on it Hmm

And 10 people have liked it. Jaysus...

misskelly · 04/11/2016 18:12

Jezzo, can you tell I'm dyslexic, lol. I swear I read before I posted. Transactivist not train activist.

QueenLaBeefah · 04/11/2016 18:12

Just read the article and Juno can fuck the fuck off. Also the comments are brilliant.

MrsJamin · 04/11/2016 18:16

Oh my goodness, Glamour are handling it terribly on twitter. Terf is a slur and they can't get away with publishing this!

It's very obvious where Glamours loyalties lie. It's with anyone who identifies as a woman obvs. Not actual woman, just the ones who identify as women, whatever that is.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/11/2016 18:24

That article has made me rage so, so much. Get right to the very very far side of fuck with trying to tell women how to be feminist. Most of the comments are heartening but there are a few which are beyond infuriating.

The eejit who says "we don't call a woman who has had a mastectomy busty" as a reason why we shouldn't call a post-op TW a male is a bit hard of thinking (understatement). Busty is a descriptor of someone with a large bust. That is the only thing it means. If someone has a mastectomy (and no reconstruction) they will no longer be busty. Man is a person with male chromosomes and male reproductive organs, who (barring medical condition or puberty blockers) will have gone through male puberty and acquired adult male physiology. Removing their penis and testes gets rid of one of those qualifying descriptors. One. Doesn't make you a woman.

Unless you think that a woman is just a vagina, of course.

DanaBarrett · 04/11/2016 18:28

Are you reducing people to genitals Statistically? cluches pearls (sorry, I've been on Twitter most of the day, it's been interesting)

TheHiphopopotamus · 04/11/2016 18:31

I remember why I stopped buying Glamour. It was because they introduced this tool as their new columnist.

Just what women have been waiting for. A person who was born a male to come along and explain feminism for them.

'What it boils down to is, am I somehow less of a woman?'

If you're a man/have a penis/were born male then yes of course you're less of a fucking woman than, y'know, actual women (note; not cis-women Hmm)

The comments are brilliant.

Datun · 04/11/2016 18:42

What it boils down to is, am I somehow less of a woman?

Possibly the most sexist comment ever, positively dripping with mysogony, entitlement, ignorance of biology and idiocy.

ageingrunner · 04/11/2016 18:49

Somehow, how could it be?!
Yes, yes you are less of a woman. In fact by any scientific definition, you are not a woman in any way.

icantbelieveitsnotchristmasyet · 04/11/2016 19:02

Jesus, not read Glamour for a while but did used to like it on a train journey etc, but I certainly won't ever be reading it again. Ffs what are they thinking?!?

If you have a penis please don't lecture me about feminism.

www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/magazine/careers-at-glamour/how-we-got-our-jobs-at-glamour/editor

Jo Elvin, sadly, is no brain box....she seems to struggle with the English language in the piece above, with word salad such as:

"I ultimately got fired....I was soon after made Editor of New Woman"

Such a shame because Glamour has a huge circulation and having someone at the helm with some intellectual wells could only be a good thing.

TheJiminyConjecture · 04/11/2016 19:12

I'm guessing many of the beautifully articulated comments are from posters here.

Thank fuck for the comment section.

LyndaNotLinda · 04/11/2016 19:16

I love how he only does 'a little wee or a poo' like his shit has suddenly become all dainty and feminine now he's started wearing mascara.

Fuck off Juno

Datun · 04/11/2016 19:16

I sincerely hope the comments are from elsewhere - it can't just be us, surely ?

Mozfan1 · 04/11/2016 19:17

Lynda 😂💩

OlennasWimple · 04/11/2016 19:17

Awful article - so lacking in self-awareness and dripping with entitlement. Great comments

Yy to Jo elvin for a webchat, but I doubt she will want to...

LyndaNotLinda · 04/11/2016 19:17

If if Juno is going to call me Cis and terf and tell me how I should be doing feminism, there's no way I'm going to pander to them with female pronouns.
