Having been directed to this test by someone who has come to mn to enlighten us all as to how we are all wrong to think "trans are in league with the devil" (wtf?!) and how "yes gender is not provable, but neither is God and we all believe he is real" (again wtf?!), I decided to have a go. Apparently it is used as part of the diagnostic procedure, though this person does seem to be posting from Amercia.

I will warn you, it is a truly awfully written and unbelievably biased piece of bullshit, featuring spelling mistakes, leading questions, and at one point the wrong "there"!! It didn't take too long though, and thanks to it I now know that I am a man. There are issues with some questions raised that can easily be 'answered' by my asd, so it's a tad biased there too.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else fancied having a go at it too...

Pretty sure it's because I said I was good at Maths - they ask about that a lot

What does "good at maths" mean ?

I think of myself as bad at Maths. I passed the then Scottish Ordinary Grade maths at a pass between 90 to 100% but failed Scottish Higher Grade maths at somewhere between 45% to 49% (I know that as they gave me a compensatory Ordinary and which actually would be a pass these days)

Sorry , completely irrelevant.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/09/2016 20:48

My middle name ends in a vowel - an E. The bloke who wrote the test was probably thinking of all the girlie name s ending in 'ie' or 'y' or 'a' and forgot about Mike, Steve, Dave, plain Jane .... twerp

The questions didn't test whether you were good at maths. They tested whether you think you're good at maths. Because of stereotype threat women might be less likely to pick the confident answers than a bloke who objectively has the same ability.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/09/2016 20:52

Buffy Grin - now there's a surprise!

HemlockIsSpartacus · 01/09/2016 20:53

I'm impressed by the sheer number of statistically anomalous anallophilic cross-dressers on this thread, given it's apparently a minority.

Yup, funny that. Almost like it's an entirely unscientific bullshit test based on the daft idea that the majority of people are either simpering girly girls or butch manly men and only a few special snowflakes get to have full and complex personalities Wink

ErrolTheDragon · 01/09/2016 20:58

What were the questions which were supposed to deduce all this cross-dressing? apart from the heel height one (which might work for men but doesnt for women at all nowadays). 'pump' is a high-heeled ladies shoe in the US I believe, btw, I think someone was puzzled by that. And one for which there wasn't an appropriate answer IIRC.

NotAnotherHarlot · 01/09/2016 21:00

Your Raw Score is: -390, which indicates that overall you are Androgynous

Your appearance is Androgynous

Your brain processes are mostly that of a Androgynous person.

You appear to socialize in a masculine manner.

You believe you have normal doubts about your gender identity.

You indicated your were born Female.

ANALYSIS:
Female to Male Transsexual in doubt about your ability to successfully transition.
NOTES:

Your Answers indicate your psychological state has likely prevailed since you were quite young.

Aspie female engineer here. Who wears dresses and skirt suits a lot. Make up, nails and long hair. Mostly because I am cursed with chunky thighs so trousers look shit. Also very very content with being a woman.

Hmm I must not like lady things enough. Grin

Lancelottie · 01/09/2016 21:23

I think this quiz can't cope with the idea of female unless you act and dress like a pantomime dame.

Edna Everage would probably get waved right through to Ultra Feminine Land.

AtiaoftheJulii · 01/09/2016 21:30

Omg this is so long!

I nearly wet myself at the "who are the worst criminals" question Grin

MostlyHet · 01/09/2016 21:36

I think it's calling me a liar... collapses into giggling heap.

SmilingButClueless · 01/09/2016 21:46

Hah! I confused the test! And am actually pretty insulted by the analysis. I suspect the programmer can't conceive of a woman who can do logic and isn't domesticated...

Your raw score is -550, which indicates that overall you are Masculine.

Your appearance is Masculine. [looks down at dress and adjusts D cup bra]

Your brain processes are mostly that of a Male person [nope, I'm a woman and they are my brain processes so they're female brain processes.]

You appear to socialise in a Masculine manner [I socialise in an autistic manner, maybe that's where the confusion comes in]

You appear to have mild conflicts about your gender identity [wrong again]

ANALYSIS

If your physical sex is female your analysis confuses S.A.G.E., as you appear to have attributes of the Male gender, but have not apparently done anything to alter your physical appearance. Leading this program to wonder if you are actually Intersexed? If you are not, your hesitation to begin transition indicates your doubts about your ability to do so, even though you seem to be a serious candidate for Gender Reassignment Surgery.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 01/09/2016 21:53

Lancelottie I'm impressed by the sheer number of statistically anomalous anallophilic cross-dressers on this thread

Grin genuine lol there!

I'm also pissed off at the train question. If they are going to ask a maths question so you can gauge how easy you find it, it shouldn't be impossible to answer! Their range basically seems to go from "thick" to "cocky (and thick)". There's no "I am quietly confident that this question is impossible".

There's huge swathes of human female experience utterly overlooked. So many questions I found impossible to answer because there wasn't an option even remotely close to the real answer. Take the housework question. I mean, there's not a even a sexist stereotyped "I'm a homebody who loves cleaning" type answer, let alone a "I just do it, because it needs doing, without thinking, same way I brush my teeth everyday". Nope, housework is either erotic Hmm or a dreadful chore. Which makes the "It's woman's work" option even more entitled and wankerish. If they cannot even imagine someone might feel enjoyment or pride in housework then why expect women to do it? The other options are all shades of "It's a chore that must be done". However the way they're worded is in a grudging, moany, resentful tone, rather than "I like a clean house, so needs must!" , or "clean sheets feel so nice" or "I do it beaue I want the best for my children". Nope. Erotica or resentment is your choice.

So many questions are just badly written, like the one about recognising an instrumental version of a song. Do they mean you'd know the name of the song? (never, for me) or do they mean you'd recognise the tune? (always).

I can't even bring myself to complete it. The whole thing is just a pile of shit that basically confirms all the theories us dreadful TERFy types subscribe to. Nice own goal, though. Smile

Lancelottie · 01/09/2016 21:55

Grin Must say it's a sentence I've never typed before.

pontificationcentral · 01/09/2016 22:00

Once, I may have to name change to 'eroticaorresentment' now. Once I've taken off my French maid outfit, and put the feather duster away, obvs.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 01/09/2016 22:30

:)
I suppose "erotica or resentment" is to patriarchy what "cake or death" is to C of E...

pontificationcentral · 01/09/2016 22:43

I'm having that sort of moment where you go to laugh hysterically but your lips stick to your teeth because it's Really. Not. Funny.

OnceThereWasThisGirlWho · 01/09/2016 22:57

smiling Leading this program to wonder if you are actually Intersexed?

Shock

I just do not have the words.

If you are not, your hesitation to begin transition indicates your doubts about your ability to do so, even though you seem to be a serious candidate for Gender Reassignment Surgery.

Fuck. It's like advertising.

ScrambledSmegs · 01/09/2016 23:06

Well that took me all fucking evening! Worst quiz ever. Beats 'what Big Bang Theory character are you?' hands down.

Your Raw Score is: -435, which indicates that overall you are Masculine

Your appearance is Quite Female

Your brain processes are mostly that of a Male person.

You appear to socialize in a masculine manner.

You believe you have normal doubts about your gender identity.

You indicated your were born Female.

ANALYSIS:
Female to Male Transsexual in doubt about your ability to successfully transition.

I don't understand the 'normal doubts' thing. I have no doubts. Why is it telling me I have doubts? I'm doubtful about the 'science' this test was based on, is that what they mean?

Doubt looks wrong now Confused.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/09/2016 23:15

Wow that test is an utter pile of wank. And that's the polite version.

Actually, what I did notice is that a lot of the questions are very, very similar to the type of questions which appear on tests for Asperger's or ASD/ASC (I have a diagnosis) and that concerns me as a lot of AS people would respond to those questions in a way which would (I think) be taken to be indicative of gender issues when in fact, it's autism.

My results were

our Raw Score is: -420, which indicates that overall you are Androgynous

Your appearance is Androgynous

Your brain processes are mostly that of a Androgynous person.

You appear to socialize in a androgynous manner.

You believe you have normal doubts about your gender identity.

You indicated your were born Female.

ANALYSIS:
Female to Male Crossdresser
NOTES:

You are in a statistical minority as a anallophilic crossdresser. Most crossdressers are heterosexual. Your motivation for crossdressing may be driven by the undirected nature of your sexuality, as a way to more fully explore the Male gender role.

I'm not even remotely androgynous appearance wise and definitely not a cross dresser, in terms of either body (very female shape) or style (I pretty much only wear dresses unless I'm working out). I'm a bit unusual for a female with autism in that instead of being disinterested in clothes/make up/hair stuff, I love it and it's one of my obsessions. I do a very mathematical/statistical job so I obviously don't have a "lady brain" though.

I think this test is utterly dangerous tbh.

quine3 · 01/09/2016 23:18

I am a female to male possible transition - which is news to me since I have always been quite comfortable in my identity as a female, although I am not 'girly'. I may have confused it slightly by only removing hair from my face ( I go swimming with unshaven legs and pits!).
I think the answer to the train problem is that they never meet. New York is to the north of Baltimore and the train leaving from it is going further north i.e away from Baltimore. The Baltimore train is going South, away from New York.

NotAnotherHarlot · 01/09/2016 23:20

I'm liking all the female aspies being told we have male brains. Just shows how flawed many diagnostic tests are when it comes to females with autism. Damn us and our non "lady brains". Grin

ijustwannadance · 01/09/2016 23:22

I got 425.

Brain is androgynous.

I fully accept my physical sex and gender identity.

I love Star Trek, used to love playing Myst and can reverse park like a pro, but, I am also able to read emotion and cry at films. No hugs though.

Hate that it doesn't give the option of liking something without being aroused by it. I like diy and sewing. Neither make my horny!

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/09/2016 23:24

Yup, as soon as I started answering the questions I spotted the resemblance with the aspie tests. It's been said a few times how people with ASD can easily be overdiagnosed as trans and I can definitely see how that would happen as some people with AS can be very black and white and it would be easy to think that the reason you like doing atypical activities is because you're the wrong gender. Especially for AS girls/women.
