Can someone explain the feminism - transgender clash...

...in a calm, non-ranty and non-sweary manner? Until very recently, my line of thinking was 'There are some men who feel like women (and vice versa). Fortunately, we are now open-minded enough as a society to accept this, and these people can have a sex change. Their bodies will then resemble their identity more closely and they will be happier for it.' Because of this, I was quite shocked at how anti-trans some feminists are. I am inclined to think there is more to it, and it is not as straightforward a question as it may seem. Can someone explain the issue in a bit more detail to me? I obviously understand the annoyance over banning the use of the word 'clitoris' for being offensive to transwomen (MtF) and could understand why some biological women (not sure what the correct lingo is) have problems allowing transwomen (MtF) who still have a penis into women-only (safe) spaces. But how many transwomen get upset over the use of words like clitoris and uterus? Surely most would just be relieved to have addressed their gender dysphoria and would want to get on with life? And how many transwomen (MtF) decide to keep their penis? Wouldn't it be wrong to exclude transwomen (MtF) from women-only activities? Shouldn't biological women who consider themselves feminists have some sympathy for other groups that are not treated equally in society? I am not trying to create a really heated debate, these are genuine questions I have. Having them answered will help me have a more informed opinion on the matter, which does seem to crop up more and more. Your views would be much appreciated!

I am a woman the same as rosemary west is. I feel no shame attached to that. It’s just biological fact.

Other facts are thatbmen commit sexual abuse at a far higher rate than women, and that around 20% of women suffer mental health problems as a result of this absuse. Because of this, it has been decided that it is useful to allow women what are termed safe spaces. ...actually single sex space that are safe because they are single sex.

As a group the behaviours of transwoem are just like that of men. Hence sex segregated spaces should stay sex segregated.

This is not saying every transwoman is a rapist. It is just saying that because so many are, the harm caused to transwomen from segregation is less than the harm caused to women by remov8ng segregation,

Yes, this does mean that people , men and transwomen alike, are treated as guilty in advance. However the trauma caused by this is farr less than the trauma caused to women if you insist that a transwomen can only be excluded form a woman’s space if it has been proved in a court of law that they individually have caused harm to women

It is a balance of rights between men and women . And that balance is not affected if the man becomes a transwomen, because Male pattern behaviours remain.

However much we would like to escape our biology, it’s a fundamental part of us. However unfair it seems to be treated as a group, it is normal. Young drivers pay more than older drivers for insurance, even the safe ones. We all need a passeport to travel even though very few of us are illegal immigrants, year 6 children hpget priveldged that year 5children don’t, even if the year 5s are better behaved.

Feminist4 please could you explain how your son, the child you gave birth to and was identified at birth as male, is now your daughter and female? It's a genuine question as I really don't understand how that is possible.

No? Ok then. I've come to the conclusion that I'll never get answers to my questions on this subject. It's impossible to try and understand the other side of this if no one actually answers questions or tries to explain in a way that makes any sense.

I think that poster may have been banned, PerverseConverse.

Oh. That explains it then. Thanks Ereshkigal.
