Ooh ooh! Do I get to start it?

Wine and cake all round. And a celebratory burst on the patriarchy-blasting cannon!

Old pub here

To be fair, I had some ginger fizzy stuff again today. Maybe there is something in all of this?

Hullo, this seems as good a place as any to say thanks to all the intelligent, articulate, aware women on these boards for educating me and opening my eyes a bit. Whatever happens with 'mums'net, following the TA batshittery, it's been an interesting journey.

FreshwaterSelkie · 26/08/2016 11:19

Friday has arrived and is very, very cross with Thursday for the appropriation. It's demanding wine and crisps in reparation for the hurt feelings. What can I do except try to make it up to poor old Friday? Some friends are coming round in a minute and we're going to lie in the pool with something chilly, it's the temperature of the sun here (foreign parts).

Hi bungowomble! It's interesting times at the moment, isn't it?

NeverEverAnythingEver · 26/08/2016 11:21

It's pretty hot here too. (UK southeast.)

NeverEverAnythingEver · 26/08/2016 11:22

Hello Bungo! What's it like down in Wimbledon Common? Grin

SE too. enjoying sunshine. Playground followed by play in water fountains (and no one fell over!). Youngest sleeping on me just now. Perfect morning.

BungoWomble · 26/08/2016 14:58

I'm a bit further north than the Common, but it's quite nice today - sunny and warm, but a nice breeze and a bit fresher.

Interesting times is right. Small vocal bunch of mentally-ill extremists being set above half the population is what it looks like. It's reassuring to see so many women say enough is enough.

BungoWomble · 26/08/2016 15:02

I feel sorry for MNHQ though!

FreshwaterSelkie · 27/08/2016 06:48

Argh, I have a hangover, someone hug me!

Ended up in the pub last night and I swear there must have been something psychedelic in the wine. The dogs are no respecters of hangovers, they were up at 6.30am as per.

More coffee. And another hug.

FreshwaterSelkie · 27/08/2016 06:51

Oh, dear lord, I went off on a big feminist rant to people I hardly know last night . I was provoked, though. There's a guy in the local who is a complete MCP, and he wound me up. I don't think anyone in there is now in any doubt about my political leanings any more. "YES! I'm a FEMINIST! Does that surprise you?" Blush

Have you drunk enough water? Water and something to boost your blood sugar, something fatty, paracetamol and time.

I'm having terrible flashbacks, which probably belong in MH but I don't even know any more.

Just going for coffee with friends and trying to stay present for the duration of a camomile tea. Brew later folks.

Felascloak · 27/08/2016 10:01

Big hugs for fresh and erin
fresh I regularly do drunken ranting and then have the horrors the next day Blush. Just pretend you can't remember!

erinaceus · 27/08/2016 11:26

Thanks Felascloak

Going for lunch with someone I know. Trying to stay grounded.

FreshwaterSelkie · 27/08/2016 11:57

I've had a cheese sandwich, several pints of water and some S&V crisps. In the right light, I could pass for human again Grin

fela, it wouldn't be so bad, but I wasn't even articulate! I was just screechy. I'm better than that! I've let feminism down...

erin hope you have a nice lunch and your lunch companion is supportive.

myownperson · 27/08/2016 12:54

Oh I hate that shame the following day! but everyone does it. And remember everyone else had been drinking too do it'll be quickly forgotten. Glad you're feeling more normal. Has made me smile though.

erin hope you are OK.

I am sat in a very nice bar with a large glass of wine. This is a BIG step for me having made a bit of a mess of life. Was feeling very pleased but STBX has just texted to say my youngest has been up all night and is upset trying to nap today. Separation is difficult.

TeiTetua · 27/08/2016 13:52

One is shocked--shocked! to be sitting here in the pub and to hear that feminists may consume alcohol. We expect better of our ladies.

But seriously, being under the influence may not be the best way to make a convincing presentation, but at least it shows that you're a feminist all the time.
