We're running at about six weeks per pub at the moment! So if you want chat with a feminist flavour, or with fellow feminists, or just want to admire our patriarchy blaster cannon and goat - welcome!

Oh God the beeping (kettle, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, tumbler) and chiming(fridge, freezer). Sometimes more annoying than the seemingly continuous 'muuuuuum..... muuuuum..... muuuuuuuum' when the kids want something!

I bought dishwasher, tumbledryer, and washing machine all from the same manufacturer, from the same range/series, expecting some consistency of interface. But no. They all make different I'm finished noises (properly different - one plays a tune, one beeps, one does a couple of different beeps) and their program selection bits are all annoyingly different too.

All I wanted was a bit of consistency.

Morning!

I turned off the washing machine's "I'm finished" beep, because it went on for ages and made me shout "I'll see to you when I'm good and ready!"

I've namechanged. My current job situation (besides the search) is conflictive at the moment and I have to be careful. It is actually dragging me down Sad

Lily Grin

Our oven has two different timers with different beeping noise. And our downstairs smoke alarm screams quietly if you stir fry anything too enthusiastically but it's drown out by the extractor fan which is all noise and no extraction. And that's not even counting the kids who would be either moaning at each other or attempt some modern form of one-person orchestra.

Aargh.

Hi, I'm just here to find out about the goat.

No, I just seem to keep getting drawn into feminist type threads and see a lot of you there saying amazing stuff, and just wanted to say a little hi and that I've learned a lot from a lot of you.

And also is this where you come when you end up on one of those threads where you want to scream and throw things at the wall, to down neat vodkas? Because I could use somewhere like that.

Love me an ikea seascape. I promise to avoid breakages in the pub!

Thanks for the welcome! Now off to do something with my day other than get angsty about People On The Internet.

could we have a de-stressing zone? Some bubble wrap, hard object to slam, posters of our favorite misogynists to throw darts at, flooring that makes a satisfying noise when we stomp our feet? Just for the mild annoyances. On a bad day we can unleash the goat and prime the cannon, but sometimes I just want a little strop.

Perhaps one of those china galleries out the back like they used to have at the summer fair where you got to throw wooden bowls at people's discarded hideous vases and ancient dinner services...

Hi shaska
Kickass what a brilliant idea. Can we have a proper punch bag with gloves please?. My DS's bought me an inflatable one when they were younger< marvels at wisdom of small sons> and I punched the cr** out of it every night after work until one one night I burst it!

Just marking place and to say I've had a great weekend with about 100 women and girls and two boys (both under 4). I was at Guide camp though I actually didn't stay over, DS and I went daily (and I missed most of DD's morning and bedtimes, and she's very clingy, so I'm kind of glad I didn't stay over). It's about the only organisation I can think of that's incredibly diverse but all women.

Evening all!

Thanks for the messages of support yesterday. I am pleased to report that today has been much better. The fridge still sounds like it is on its last legs, but DH has done something to it and assures me it will last for a while. He has also brought home a bottle of wine that seems to be helping matters too!

Patience Buffy, patience!
