Phew there is a lot of women-blaming about tonight Sad

YonicScrewdriver · 23/01/2015 22:20

I did read them when younger but not since and I don't think I remember much (improbable triplets and doctor-schoolgirl romance aside...)

PetulaGordino · 23/01/2015 22:21

I only read one or two I think - I was a Mallory towers girl

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 23/01/2015 22:34

EE it was a no bake cheesecake (soft cheese and double cream) on a chocolate digestive base, and I folded in smushed strawberries and raspberries and crushed meringue nests. Then liberally scattered with more fruit, chill for 4 hours. Eat huge slice with more cream and plentiful white wine and pretend it's summer. A nice summer, not the crap rainy ones we get ooop here.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 23/01/2015 22:35

Oh, and icing sugar. In the cheese mix.

FibonacciSeries · 23/01/2015 22:48

Hmpf. I just lost a management role to a guy one rung of the ladder below me (officially; we are talking corporate titles) with no management experience and a far worse 360 review than mine. I know I shouldn't but I can't help think that it's because penis.

Um, yes, it is. V V rare though.

Can I ask why?

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 23/01/2015 23:12

Is misophonia not the same as hyperacuity in the UK?

PuffinsAreFictitious · 23/01/2015 23:52

Do you think it's actual misophonia? Or could it be a feature of SPD, which is often co-morbid with ASD?

YonicScrewdriver · 24/01/2015 07:23

Is it noises or general sensory overload, Buffy?

YonicScrewdriver · 24/01/2015 07:24

Fib, that's shit.

Dragonlette · 24/01/2015 08:09

That is utterly crap Fib. Have they told you why they've given it to him over you, other than the penis thing?

Buffy I react quite badly to dp eating as well, dd2 is seemingly the same with any louder than normal noise. We both now leave the room when dp gets a snack. I'm not sure that's a fair strategy for us to use, but it stops us killing him, which is a bonus. I suspect I, and both dds, have a mild form of sensory things going on, we're all very fussy about textures, noises, and smells. Dp thinks we're all weird.

Sympathy to Fib. Can you ask for a review or something?

You know, Buffy, you are in serious danger of becoming my hero here. Smile But is nature v nurture an ever-so-slightly -just a leetle - more interesting topic? Though I liked the point that it didn't matter anyway. (Referring to one of the p. 3 threads for curious bystanders, didn't want to derail it).

FibonacciSeries · 24/01/2015 10:19

Thanks for the commiseration. I can't give out my details without giving myself away, which would get me in a whole load of trouble. But things are looking up - I'm short listed for something much, much better, and that's the kind of finger-up satisfaction I'm craving at the moment Grin

OP posts:
FloraFox · 24/01/2015 10:35

fib that is crap about the penis thing but good luck with the other. Do some finger strengthening exercises in the meantime.

PetulaGordino · 24/01/2015 10:55

Well that's it isn't it? Far better to be insulted when what it means is that you can get away with not doing shitwork and get other people to serve your needs

And of course they aren't actually lazy, violent etc when it suits them (in some situations where it means paid work for example)

LightningOnlyStrikesOnce · 24/01/2015 10:55

Yes well I'm a bit more simple! That's fascinating... my local sample size of 1 male gives a 200% response for yes that statement about men's behaviour pisses him off, and all sorts of associated cultural behaviour also pisses him off, eg in work hierarchical systems. And further that he's pissed off that his culture gave him an unwittingly, subtly misogynistic viewpoint to begin with, and pleased that with help he's able to see it.
