Migsy, I'm assuming from what you've said that your 'friend' who lured you into prostitution, lives off your earnings and has managed to mire you in (possibly illegal) debt to him is also the father of your baby. That's a truly horrible situation and it must make the idea of establishing a new life a thousand times more difficult.

However, for both your and your baby's sake I hope you realise that he is NOT a good or necessary influence in your lives, and both you and your baby would be much better off without contact with him. Not all fathers are good fathers (as you know from all those men who asked for 'dad/daughter fantasies' - ugh), and children are always better off without bad men in their lives. Women's Aid will be able to provide you with advice about this aspect of your situation as well.

Sorry if this sounds hectoring. It's just that women are constantly fed the idea that they should do whatever it takes to keep fathers in children's lives, but this is only true for good dads - the truth is that children do better when abusive and exploitative men are not part of their or their mother's lives.

migsy I don't recognise any meaningful idea of choice in what you have described. At best, you were groomed into prostitution but I think you were tricked. What you described was a gradual process where you got deeper and deeper into it. Before you started in prostitution, you never thought "I'm going to become a full time prostitution and have sex with 40 - 50 men a week, have sex with men old enough to be your father, have sex with multiple men at a time, role play sex abuse situations for £30 a time, that's what I'm choosing". Your experience is a good example of why a woman's choice to be in prostitution should not be given more weight than the harm caused by prostitution.
