Anybody see this? It was just horrific. I really, really hope it reached the right audience: punters and their defenders. I doubt it, but I hope so Sad

I'm not sure what you mean by "that's where it's open to abuse" but no it couldn't potentially protect women in the industry, not in any way whatsoever. Please do some research and try to think this through.

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 09:16

People were assuming it would only be legal for women.

No they weren't.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 09:19

Sab - lol. It's not an argument lol
We both agree the current method isn't working. No method proposed has and will stop all prostitution. You haven't come up with any ideas that would do this.
I said, from what I had the chance to read, I like the Nordic model. It's after the fact but decriminalisation is a positive way of opening up communication with the authorities.

I do like your your new posting style anyway

Beachcomber · 26/10/2013 09:24

This is just the same as wino's reams of studies.

There is no honest discussion of the gendered nature of prostitution.

The vast majority of prostituted people are girls and women. The vast majority of punters are men. The vast majority of pimps and traffickers are men. The institution of prostitution is massively sexist, racist and ageist. It is not a "service industry" it is a sexist system of exploitation and abuse. It is violence against women and a major human rights issue.

Men who argue for it should try it. They should try being penetrated by hundreds of men they do not desire and then come back and lecture to us women how being penetrated all day by men you do not desire is a "job", "a service", not harmful.

Has the entitled complacency meter exploded yet?

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 09:24

Buffy - it was conscious. It was Just for clarification.

FloraFoxForAnyFucker · 26/10/2013 09:25

bale what does lol mean? I'm assuming it doesn't mean "laughs out loud" because that would be weird in this context.

Nothing that is made illegal is stopped entirely. Not even murder. It is not necessary to prove that making the purchase of sex illegal would eliminate all prostitution.

Your statements about liking the Nordic model but supporting decriminalisation are nonsensical. The Nordic model is the criminalisation of the purchase of sex. Any decriminalisation negates this entirely.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 09:26

Beach - it's not a service or job currently. I was saying that in a world where it were legal that is how it would be viewed.

Flora - decriminalisation of the the seller.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 09:29

Buffy - you misread

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 09:29

Ta bale. Sorry, I didn't realise I was meant to "come up with ideas" Is this a sixth form brainstorming sesh now? OK.

Sweden has a very feminist government - very interested in sexual equality. It's a good way to go. Nothing is perfect, but certainly a good move to criminalise punters/pimps and decriminalise prostitutes, with exit programs/support/rehab.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 09:31

Sab - it would definitely be a good way to go, no debate there

Good grief. You certainly know how to stir up a thread, bale.

FloraFoxForAnyFucker · 26/10/2013 09:37

bale what you seem to be proposing seems nonsensical but perhaps you are not putting your ideas across coherently. Can you summarise your views re the buyer and the seller and what would be legal and what would be illegal?

sab I work with some Swedish companies and I love the way they work. They are, without doubt in my mind, a great model of how we should organise our working lives.

Flora - I'm not proposing anything, I'm not lobbying.

Buffy - no probs. I'll try and get up to speed on this area. I can see it's very passionate.

Beachcomber · 26/10/2013 09:48

Yeah, let's make being penetrated by all comers a job. Great idea.

Careers advisors could inform school leavers about this job. Students could do work experience in it. Let's have adverts for jobs in prostitution in the job centre. Unemployment could be reduced overnight.

Great idea.

inwinoweritas · 26/10/2013 10:01

Sal-where is the c&p? All my own words except where I deliberately quote then link to the original document. You might find it tedious but then maybe you don't like your assumptions challenged?

Beachcomber · 26/10/2013 10:12

What do you want to do when you grow up darling?

A doctor? Gosh that will be hard work. Have you thought about being a prostitute? You don't need to do all that boring studying and you could work anywhere in the world.

Yes darling boys can do it too, I know it's overwhelmingly girls but things won't change if boys like you don't enter the profession.

What does it involve? Well it's part of the service sector I think.

What does that actually mean? It means sucking cocks and having them put in you.

inwinoweritas · 26/10/2013 10:19

What's with the "fucker" many of you have adopted as part of your monikers?

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 10:52

Like we're gonna tell you.

Really Buffy ?!

A famous male comic actor treating the idea of prostitution as work as a subject for sarcastic satirical comedy? Surely not!!!
