Anybody see this? It was just horrific. I really, really hope it reached the right audience: punters and their defenders. I doubt it, but I hope so Sad

When - I think there is but only if they get caught.

In a legalised system you would try and keep abuse to a minimum.

The Nordic model is more open to abuse. Unregulated, prostitutes front up brothels because they won't be criminalised.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:11

Flora - I mean the illegal brothels could be dealt with with a model like the Nordic one. The legal brothels would try and make the uncontrollable prostituion controllable. Keep the workers safe and regulate the punters

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:18

That's laughable bale. The nordic model prohibits the purchase of sex - so legal brothels cannot exist under it.

Sab - sorry I thought we were referring to the criminalisation of punters. That's what I meant. Obviously it would allow legal brothels in Norway

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:24

Oh ja. Ofc. whatevs.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:26

When - are you talking about all prostitution?
I think the legalisation would cause a shift of power. (Not in all cases). Prostitution as you see it now, would not exist.

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:29

Yes bale. I think she is.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:31

Sab - I'm not sure that is the definition of all prostitution

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:35

Bale - you've obviously spent time pondering the Swedish Model since you googled it an hour ago. So I totes respect your opinion.

Sab - lol. It's a view on what to do. I don't think its an easy area to deal with, with no clearcut answers. Each reaction to prostitution has an element of compromise.
I don't need you to respect what I right. I feel that you posting your sarcastic respect has some kind of an agenda behind it. Maybe you think you are on a pedestal, maybe you want to score points with your chums, maybe you think you own the forum, maybe you like to belittle, maybe some other reason, etc.

It means a lot to me

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:46

When - thanks for clearing that up

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 00:47

bale, an hour ago you were asking us what the nordic model was.

Now you're some of serious "opinion" that we should give serious consideration to? Hmmmmmmm.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:49

Does the Nordic model highlight the gender angle? How does it deal with it specifically?

GoshAnneGorilla · 26/10/2013 00:49

V creepy that the male posters on this thread are so keen to tells us our opinions don't matter, because I guess we don't matter. We are only women after all.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:54

Lol. Are you the person that regulates opinions? Looool
I'm not submitting my opinions as a conclusive report to the government as an advisor.
I'm saying that I think there might be something to legalisation.
You are acting like you own the place. If it makes you happier ill just copy what you are saying. Sorry ma'am

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 00:56

Gosh - saying someone's opinion doesn't matter is wrong. You should name and shame those people.

That's if your post is allowed by sab

Isn't it funny how often men come on here and go on about how legalisation is the way to go? Even when they have apparently given next to no thought to any other options such as the Nordic model. A mere glance at an overview of the model seems to be enough to reject it in favour of ... guess what? Legalisation. Cos, yanno, there might be something to it.

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 01:06

When - the social programmes sound like a good idea. With that model your first contact with prostitution is after the fact. You reach out to the women on finding the brothels or pimps. With regulation you could potentially come in to contact with potential prostitutes, educating them and assessing their circumstances before any prostitution. This may prevent a great deal of women and men starting that career in the first place.
However, I know it wouldn't be water tight

Yougotbale · 26/10/2013 01:10

Flora - I've not dismissed it. I've said, from what I have read, it's better than what we are doing now. I've said I like what I have seen.
I don't know what you find 'funny' about that?

SabrinaMulFUCKERJjones · 26/10/2013 01:12

Because you're still advocating legalisation bale...

Sab - I think there maybe something in taking parts of the Nordic model and heavily regulated legalisation.
In an ideal world there would be no prostitution. I'm not sure what I would do for people that genuinely wanted to do it as a job (that would be open to abuse).
It's hard to make it go away, every option will be abused and have its limitations
