I feel uneasy about this...

I was reading an article about "modern relationships" on the Independent, and one of the people mentioned was this man: www.mikelousada.com/5/Session-Types.html

As you can see as part of his therapy he offers "intimate massage" which includes, well, intimate massage. Obviously it's spelled out on his page and he states that he would not do it without full consent, but it still seems a little... odd to me. I can't quite put my finger on why, but it seems distasteful.

What do others think? Acceptable, or really not?

Why the heck are you looking into this?...

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 21:36

Ohhhh- Kay

Well he's a posh prostitute, right? £100 PH to give you an "intimate" massage. Sounds like he'll give you an orgasm from the blurb on his site. So. There you go.

BertieBotts · 13/02/2012 21:36

I wasn't, I read the article which said he had sex with his patients and was Shock so I googled his name and found this.

I'm not a perv Confused I've been posting here for years!

Reminds me of that film about the Kellogg bloke when the male "therapist" was giving manual "relief" to the female patients.

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 21:38

Grin I know Bertie.

Grumpla · 13/02/2012 21:39

You can't quite put your finger on it but I bet he does.

Mumcentreplus · 13/02/2012 21:42

No you silly..LOL..him...your pervyness or not did not come into my thoughts Grin

Mumcentreplus · 13/02/2012 21:43

He's a liberty taker...and a man-whore

BertieBotts · 13/02/2012 21:44

Shock Blush Grumpla!

Sardine - like Hysterical Paroxysm? I read about that a while ago. Also creepy! The prostitute thing - that crossed my mind as well. Weird.

Ohh, sorry Mumcentre!

Sorry Grin

Anniegetyourgun · 13/02/2012 21:49

Sounds like a smart businessman, one who's got women to pay him for taking liberties with them instead of him having to pay them. Got to admire his enterprise.

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 21:49

Well I doubt he'd describe himself as a prostitute but, um, giving sexual release for cash is kind of what that is.

youngermother1 · 13/02/2012 21:50

Used to be available from the GP here :o

JustHecate · 13/02/2012 21:54

It seems very exploitative to me.

Talking in terms of healing sexual trauma, saying wounds by a man can only be healed by a man.

It doesn't sit right at all.

If he was just saying that he charges £X for sexual massage then fair enough, he's a prostitute, you know what you're getting - but to present it like this is, well, creepy, frankly.

Did you read that 'why work with a man' bit?

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 21:55

Yup was used to treat "hysteria".

The film I was thinking of was "road to wellville" which I saw years ago.

Incidentally I remember reading about "pelvic congestion" in magazines when i was young and how if you weren't having lots of orgasms you were at risk of it. I worried at the time as I wasn't having lots of orgasms! I just remembered it - is that a real thing, anyone know?

Anniegetyourgun · 13/02/2012 21:56

Oh, didn't read the article, is that what he's claiming? Well then, the word "charlatan" springs to mind. (As well as "prostitute", obviously.)

But still an enterprising charlatan.

JustHecate · 13/02/2012 21:57

pelvic congestion syndrome

Anniegetyourgun · 13/02/2012 21:57

SardineQueen, if it were, I'd have been carried off by it years ago.

JustHecate · 13/02/2012 21:58

better website here

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 21:58

So why were 14 year old girls being advised by teen magazines in the 80s that if they didn't have lots of orgasms they were at risk of pelvic congestion?

Anniegetyourgun · 13/02/2012 22:04

There was an awful lot of guff talked in the 80s, most particularly (but by no means exclusively) by teen magazines. Did you see some of their relationship advice? #shudder#

Apparently there is such a thing as pelvic congestion, according to good old Wiki. No mention of sexual activity being any kind of help though.

AKissIsNotAContract · 13/02/2012 22:06

Very little shocks me, but this has! I can't believe any woman would pay £100 per hour to be wanked off. Dressing it up as healing sexual trauma makes it very creepy.

campariandlemonade · 13/02/2012 22:06

Is self styled "sacred sexual healer" the new lingo for male prostitute then? ...

I think mixing "therapy" and "intimate massage" is more than a bit questionable isn't it for a number of reasons?

Makes me especially uneasy in terms of potential vulnerability of clients, despite all the consent stuff he writes about...

SardineQueen · 13/02/2012 22:09

akiss maybe he is a really huge wanker?
