Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

If I used breast imagery in a pictorial political satire i.e. David Cameron’s face looks like a tit, is it unacceptable and like the use of breast imagery in a lads mag?

I can't believe that you are not able to come up with a better idea than the breast one.

One of my favourite programs is Father Ted, there?s a great line in it from the warring couple in the shop,
Her holding a knife shouting? You have a face like a pair of tits?.

I find that funny. What a terrible thing to say to a man.

When I see DC I see a tit. I draw what I see. I have a pair, I?m allowed.

There was a question from much earlier you never answered, how do you stop men from oggaling women?s tits? Shooting them was you original answer. Let?s have the real answer then.

Are lesbians/pro porn feminist who watch women made porn for women wrong?

What consenting adults get up to is not to me to judge, that?s the important word CONSENT. If there?s no consent then it?s wrong. Would you really intrude into someone?s personal life and insist on your will imposed on there sexual CONSENTUAL activity?

I am a vulgar working class woman who doesn?t know any better and must be taught to produce nice worthy cartoons.

Thank you for judging me like so many men have.

PS, men have tits too..

I don't see it as anything to do with being vulgar. You can be as vulgar as you like. The problem is with using sexist language.

Riveninside · 07/06/2011 10:08

And associating female parts with something bad.
Cameron = bad for your cartoon
To potray 'bad' you use parts of a womans body.

CrapolaDeVille · 07/06/2011 10:10

TBH I find the use of breasts and penises rather piss poor anyway and a bit lowest common denominator.....bit like Chubby Brown.

So the lesbians who showed me Anny sprinkles work, who enjoy it in the privacy of there own home, you would go actually stop them from doing it.
And how will you be doing this dittany? Send the police round to breake there door down and have them arrested? So um..what kind of punishment would you give to these women for watching women for women porn?

There are exceptions you see, it?s not that simple.

nice little quote..

"Erotica and pornography should not be confused with obscene satires or lampoons because the latter do not aim at sexual titillation.."

"One Day They Were Simply Gone"
The Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals Germany 1934 from rictornorton.co.uk/nazi.htm

February 22: Prostitution was banned.

February 23: All gay bars and hotels were closed.

March 3: Nudism was banned.

March 7: Pornography was banned.

March: The West German Morality League began its Campaign against Homosexuals, Jews, Negroes and Mongols.

November 13: the Hamburg City Administration asked the Head of Police to "pay special attention to transvestites and to deliver them to the concentration camps if necessary."

So Dittany..um..so you agree with some of what the nazi party did above was right?

You keep asking me about my stance on pornography?

OP posts:
Motherfunster · 07/06/2011 14:08

So how are you going to stop it?What form will that take?

How would you punish the women and men who use it?.

Do you want it banned?

  1. Social change so people start facing up to woman hating instead of ignoring it.

What form will that take?

  1. See above re making paying for sex illegal.

Agreed to hitting the punters for a change. However prostitution will go on, it will be pushed out into the very dangerous fringes of society. The girls can be put in more danger; strict regulation like Amsterdam seems safer. You cant stop it.

  1. Make the harms of pornography into a specific legal harm so people who have been hurt by it can sue pornographers and distributors.

No arguments about that, good idea.

Last bit, I know women who are into BDSM. As long as it consensual that?s there business.

SLUG! you're in the wrong job (sorry I don'T know what you do)... I'd never made the connection before between Iggle Piggle and DC!!! Shock

I'm always a bit Hmm when someone tries to pretend feminists are in bed with the conservatives. Now there's a chilling thought [shudder]

And I'm always Hmm when the words Freedom of Speech and Porn are mentioned in the same thread. What in the world has having someones dick up your arse, in exchange for money, got to do with talking?

Motherfunster · 07/06/2011 15:07

Amsterdam council recognized the bad brothels then. That leaves two thirds left open. While I was there I talked to some of the Dutch sex workers and how the stigma of being a prostitute in Holland is allot less, seems to make it allot easer to leave it as a profession. One Dutch sex worker I talked to was leaving to get married, they were a normal middle class family didn?t seem to mind.
I also talked to a woman who was a specially trained sex worker for the disabled.

I lived in a red-light district here in the UK, and I was propositioned by punters even with a pram and shopping, scumbags. However I felt safer as more then one occasion coming home at night I was harassed or a bad marital argument with an ex, the girls came straight over to check if I was ok.
.I remember when one prostitute was being raped behind my house at 3am.My self and other women in the street were shouting out the windows and banging things like pots. He scarpered. She didn?t want the police called, because what she was doing was illegal.

There are a lot of feminist who condemn prostitution but wouldn?t have a sex worker round there house for a cup of tea.
