If I used breast imagery in a pictorial political satire i.e. David Cameron’s face looks like a tit, is it unacceptable and like the use of breast imagery in a lads mag?

Motherfunster · 06/06/2011 10:31

You dont swear then? Is it the use of the word tits?

"Tit is a very old variant of the word teat, meaning nipple. Its usage for the human breast is also old, but is considered vulgar.

Humor (fiction): It may have also come from the inventor of the bra, who's last name was Titzling. The connection between his name, and the bra being a type of sling for ones breast. So, people called the bra a tit sling, hence the word tit originated.

We need to distinguish what is vulgar and what is sexist Riveninside, depending on your political leaning that can be very objective.

When I go back to see my family, the women who are of my age will use the term ?tits? as in ?jesuz did ya see her with her tits hanging out..? it is part of part of the lexicon. I am not shocked by it nor find it offensive it is the language of my culture. As an experiment I will attempt to tell them they are oppressing them self?s by using it.

The replies may be rather short I imagine.

Id like to add that when I was pregnant with my first child the father insisted that I did not swear of tell dirty jokes while I in that condition. When I told this to my family they had a marathon dirty joke telling spree, some of them that could be considered very sexist, but it was in solidarity born from outrage at extreme sexist attitude shown by the father in attempting to censor me in this way.

Im very proud of my famly for being like this.

Pornography is as old as human sexual activity. No one should be forced to do it and should be consensual on all levels.

Its should be rigorously controlled so that the parties involved are not exploited or endangered. I have met women and men on the whole scale of sex work. From the exploited addicted to pro porn feminists and lesbians who see it as there personal right to express them self in there erotic and sexual nature as they see fit.

I can not see how this aspect of human sexuality can be stopped, you can?t change human physiology .You can only maintain rigorous safeguards and regulation to help the vulnerable, both male and female involved in the trade.

You cant turn the tide back, but you can build a flood wall.

A yes or no answer is too simplistic.

If I think it?s wrong will it stop it?. No

Will it still happen with it being banned out right..Yes.

A ban will push the vulnerable further underground.

I have answered your question.

You view on porn is essentially from the right place, the practicality of enforcing your view point is a different matter and could endanger the people you seek to help.
