Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

If I used breast imagery in a pictorial political satire i.e. David Cameron’s face looks like a tit, is it unacceptable and like the use of breast imagery in a lads mag?

Its the nature of satircal cartooning, its vulgar, rude and unplesent.Thats the job as it stands, it reflects the nature of the people that set them selfs up above us.

If i am giving you shit it is because your concerns seem a bit fantastical and misplaced- you've read 'maybe we should stop trying to sell pushup bras to 8 year olds' and somehow understood it to mean 'OMG they are gonna cancel the internet!!!'

EvenLessNarkyPuffin · 04/06/2011 13:53

I presume this is your work?

Motherfunster · 04/06/2011 14:00

Its like the super injunctions, its not fair that peoples life?s are intruded on like footballers (realy who gives a shit)but someone like Sir Fred Goodwin needs to be scrutinized.

With free speech you got to take the good with the bad.

EvenlessNarkyPuffin shes a fat troll that needs a good beating with a stick.

Prolesworth I have studied my history and women satirist were swallowed up by a right wing puritanical censorship that was the Victorians. Feminism is being drawn into right wing moralising agendas. This is the starting pistol.
Ah yes.. Bonkers..undermine a women by calling her mad..that old chestnut.

Sorry Prolesworth but mumsnet nearly got pulled in to the ISP block that the gov were trying to put in along with the likes of the new Mary White house crew over xmas. This is a back door to it.

Motherfunster · 04/06/2011 14:38

Actually I care what happens to mumsnet, it?s been a bit of a godsend on occasion and have met some of the funniest and lovelist people on here . I also care about feminism and see it being high jacked.

There have always been crossovers between feminism and right wing politics on certain censorship issues.

Riveninside · 04/06/2011 15:41

What ISP block?

Straight2Extremes · 04/06/2011 15:53

Basically your internet provider automatically blocks certain websites, problem is that they would have a broad spectrum and would block many websites which are not really associated with the target. China for example is a good example although they basically block everything so it doesn't matter if they block unrelated sites.

Dittany we have to agree to disagree, I respect your conviction and we will need that kind of strength of purpose soon. I come from a background of the gorilla girls and small press such as comics like 'tits and clits'

I believe in self expression in regards to going into territory that as a woman I?m suppose to be a good little women and say out off. Would you deny me my self expression in its vulgar and unpalatable form?

That?s censorship.
