Since it looks like the first chat thread is about to fill up, here's the next one all ready and waiting.

Think of it as the gated commune with babysitting on demand and gorgeous poolboys serving the drinks :o

Ah. I would like to apologise for that earlier remark, it sounded most rude. I was just taken aback.

Me and some friends really are going to have a commune btw (post kids). We have the details worked out, pretty much, we discovered the only difficulty the other day when it became apparent that we each had different countries in mind.

ROFL @ different countries.

I have actually been looking at mansions with indoor pools on rightmove Hmm [bored]

Hullygully · 23/02/2011 17:05

Yes, Lenin, that's the plan. We are going to live in an economically disadvantaged warm tropical country and pay excellent wages and send staff kids to school etc etc, and have coconuts rum and dancing rather than drizzle, mogadon and the telly.

Bum. No. Got long-planned family thing (and DS b.day), but will be there in spirit.

vezzie · 23/02/2011 17:31

SardineQueen - very interesting! Do you mind me asking if the peri-natal team helped you at all or did it not make any difference?

FlamingOBingo · 23/02/2011 17:39

Unrulysun & Engelbert - have emailed you Smile

SardineQueen · 23/02/2011 17:46

vezzie peri-natal team were good I thought. They assessed me and sent me over to the proper psychiatric bods. They also gave me emergency numbers and said I should call for anything whatsoever. They sat me down and had a good long chat with me about it all and follow up appts as frequent as I thought I wanted. And they were available for a year after the birth (ante-natal problems are a red flag for post-natal problems). I thought it was a very good service, was just a bit surprised that the midmives and doctors didn't refer me over. I'm sure it'll be cut soon anyhow.

The thing I find with the NHS is once you've got into the bit that you need they're very good, but getting there can be a problem.

It annoys me every time I see it.

It's so fucking woman-hating and he performed it at the Brits.

Sad

What thread?

gotta go out in a sec tho.

sethstarkaddersmackerel · 23/02/2011 20:11

'i think it's because you cease to exist in a sense'

yup, I think for a lot of docs, maternal health = 'is the baby ok?'

like the way SPD, HG and other illnesses that cause appalling quality of life for the mother are seen as trivial. And as a mother you go along with that because you are so damn grateful you've got something that will not hurt your baby.

Unrulysun · 23/02/2011 20:56

Can't open link because of infant sleeping on me but is it Plan B? Was so Angry at that shit on the Brits and that sycophantic cock James Corden being all 'I love them' (although tbh they probably weren't recruiting presenters who might insult the talent. Does anyone remember Mark Lamarr on The Word when evil homophobe Shabba Ranks was on ending the programme by saying 'I'd like to thank all our guests but I just can't bring myself to thank Shabba Ranks' :) )

I retract any mung beans, lentils and organic cooperatives

Talk to me about PlanB. I can't hear the words very clearly - catchy tune, but I will stop liking it from now on! Grin But why!?

On the Brits there was a whole courtroom set up with the jury and him as the defendent... Angry

I don't believe in straight or gay really. I think some people are straighter or gayer than others but it's like a continuum. I reckon I'm about 70/30 straight. I have never met anyone who agreed with me though :)
