I'm so glad people are linking up & think this is a good idea. Wasn't expecting such a great response - was thinking maybe three or four people would do it.
I found when I started being explicitly feminist on FB it was a surprise who agreed with me about stuff - random mates from school who I had no idea were feminist, men.... Though it was also a bit sad who didn't: one or two old friends who used to be feminist and now feel they have moved on
Hopefully strength in numbers will help to reinfluence the latter

I could really do with some feminist FB friends. I find I learn so much about things I'm interested in by links my friends on FB post - to TED talks, or articles etc. Would love to be getting more feminist stuff.

I'm not posting under my usual name but I'm a frequent poster on this topic and have started quite a few threads.

I dont want to use my usual name, though because I put way too much personal and sensitive info on here that I wouldn't want some people IRL to know.

I put quite a few feminist links up on facebook and like liking/reading/sharing other people's.

littlereddragon- I know it's a contentious issue amongst feminists but I'll admit I feel a little sad when I see women change their names on fb.

It also makes it a PITA to find someone you know by their maiden name.

So, intelligent MN/FB feministas...how do you remember who is who wrt to RL/MN names on your FB pages when you add people in quick succession and don't have time to get to know them!?

I have no clue who's who ... sorry everyone! It's really annoying that facebook allows you to send messages along with friend requests, but once you click confirm they disappear ... so I'm sorry, I'm not sure who you all are but I'm sure I'll work it out.

I have a list. In moments when there is nothing happening on Mumsnet I test myself on them using techniques developed 27 years ago for learning French vocab.

I can't work out who the hell is who either.

Also am assuming that everyone's discreet enough to give away info on FB that would out our MN ID's and on MN that would out our RL IDs.

Good point HerB. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather my other people on facebook don't twig that I'm on MN, and certainly not who I am on MN!

Btw, I have posted a note about using 'Ms' on my facebook page and if I've got anything wrong/missed anything out I'd love to know, if you happen to see it.
