Anyone else excited about the women's euros? I'd love to follow the progress of the teams (especially England) with any football-supporting Mumsnetters. Thrilled that it's a home tournament, commiserations to Scotland and Wales for not making it through qualification. Huge congratulations to NI, qualifying for the very first time.

Doesn't have to be just match-related, either - comments on the background to each women's team (especially from non-British fans), and of course the kits all welcomed.

Hmmm not so sure.

I think France are vastly overrated. I'd fancy a Mumsnet 11 to give them a game 😊

The Germans will do what they always do: quietly progress through the tournament and then bite you on the arse in the final: usually involving penalties.

Having said that, I thin we're too strong for either of them right now. England to bring it home on Sunday 😍

Completely agree with this.

No stopping those, 1-0 Germany

littlbrowndog · 27/07/2022 20:46

1-1. 👏👏👏go France

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 20:46

Great strike, 1-1

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 20:47

I enjoyed that first half and an exciting finish.

It's gone down as an own goal for the German goalie

MrsJackGrealish · 27/07/2022 20:48

Literally just turned on to see France score.

Although having said that I did play on the winning side in a preliminary round of the FA Cup.

Well I think this is amazing and as I understand your username I shall be saying my friend played on the winning side.

Thought the French defence was poor for the Germany goal, feel for the German GK but as a neutral please at the Half time result.

AndNobbyDancing · 27/07/2022 21:01

Oh Tess, you made we well up. You can't underestimate the power of role models.

Well done the BBC

littlbrowndog · 27/07/2022 21:01

i much prefer the French free running side. The Germans seem dead practiced and well not so inventive. But I know nowt about footie tbf.

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:02

That was lovely

MrsJackGrealish · 27/07/2022 21:14

That german player went down a bit too quick. Arm barely touched her.

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:20

2 big chances for France

France seem to picking up a beat now. Germany are strangely subdued.

Collidascope · 27/07/2022 21:23

Hope it goes to extra time. Tire them out.

MrsJackGrealish · 27/07/2022 21:25

Another squandered chance.

Collidascope · 27/07/2022 21:32

German player gets a yellow for the shirt-grabbing and shoving that France have been doing all night...

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:32

Germany scores, second for Popp

littlbrowndog · 27/07/2022 21:33

Yep.

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:33

VAR check

littlbrowndog · 27/07/2022 21:33

Germany won this.

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:34

Goal stands

French defence seemed rooted to ground for that goal

MrsJackGrealish · 27/07/2022 21:35

I dont see France yanking this one back now.

DuncinToffee · 27/07/2022 21:35

Oof, close!

littlbrowndog · 27/07/2022 21:44
