Women's Football - European Championships starting Wed 6/7

Anyone else excited about the women's euros? I'd love to follow the progress of the teams (especially England) with any football-supporting Mumsnetters. Thrilled that it's a home tournament, commiserations to Scotland and Wales for not making it through qualification. Huge congratulations to NI, qualifying for the very first time.

Doesn't have to be just match-related, either - comments on the background to each women's team (especially from non-British fans), and of course the kits all welcomed.

Cracking final in store. I wanted France to win and I think if they had had Katoto they might just have done it. But well done Germany. Their more experienced coach made a difference as well.
I think that France have turned a corner regarding playing as a team, which always used to be their achilles heel. Some will say that Henry's and Le Sommer's absence cost them, but I disagree. They got one step further than usual without those two and I have never seen a more united France squad, which will stand them in good stead. They are a year or so behind England and Germany and a year ahead of Spain. Corinne Diacre is a good manager, and I think the players respect and like her despite her cold personality. The World Cup should be a really exciting competition with all of England, France, Germany and Spain at their peak.
Anyway, really looking forward to Sunday. I think our name's on the trophy. Come on you Lionesses!
