Don't post here if you don't want to know who dies and what happens.

You've been warned.

OP posts:

I must admit I didnt notice it on the first reading because I was so caught up with fear, the dementors were getting closer and Ron and Hermione's patronus's had faded away when along came a Ernie with his boar and luna of course, coaching Harry through how to think of something happy!

Flamestorm · 02/08/2007 09:23

Mine'd be a sparrow... would that do a lot though?? Maybe a giant sparrow!!

PhoenixSongbird · 02/08/2007 09:44

I like that Ginny's is a horse - a strong, free spirit. Also, it's as big as Harry's, which I think is important. Unless it's a shetland pony of course!

I've nearly finished my re-read, and have just read about Snape's memories - much sadder second time round! You definitely notice more the second time, don't you? I feel quite angry with DD for what he expected of Snape, but then, Snape had been a Death Eater, I suppose. But Snape's face just before he kills DD is explained now, isn't it? He hated having to it. I thought that would have been the case [smug]

MrsWeasley · 02/08/2007 09:48

I agree about re-reading it makes you pick up different things. When I first read it I couldnt put it down and was holding my breath reading some bits. (eg, When Harry went to snape, would he save him, would V come back in room, etc etc )

OMG it was a good read

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 09:57

I agree I also noticed loads more as the anxiety wasn't sitting on my shoulder going 'read quickly and find out who dies'. Not sure what my patronus would be. Think that needs some serious thought.

MrsWeasley · 02/08/2007 10:24

I love the fact that there is so much out there that isnt in the books. JKR certainly doesnt do things by half. Thankfully

I was tring to find out what Molly Weasleys patronus is and discovered that she did in fact home school all her children (this is something we debated on a previous thread)

PhoenixSongbird · 02/08/2007 11:25

Where did you read that Mrs W?

I like that Ginny's a working mum (we'd had that discussion too), even if she is working for the bloody Prophet!

casbie · 02/08/2007 12:07

really enjoyed reading it and want another go (hubby reading it now though).

confused at the beginning and confused at the end by the amount of possible clues and leads.

middle part when they gallavanting around not knowing what's happening, not knowing what they're looking for did my head in.

though very, very exciting and can't wait to watch the film (4) in the next few weeks. i don't think i can ever tire from reading all the books again and again!

MrsWeasley · 02/08/2007 12:56

I read it here look in the depth bit.

fawkeoff · 02/08/2007 14:06

i really felt sorry for snape..must have been torture for him to live with the fact that he played in the part of lilys death.....i wonder if he ever looked in the mirror??????

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 14:12

That picture on the link looks like one of BOM's pencil pictures!

BandofMothers · 02/08/2007 15:28

Albus, I didn't know you'd seen.

Wish mine were that good.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:31

I had a look at your profile earlier. They're very good.

BandofMothers · 02/08/2007 15:34

Thanks. There are a couple of threads kicking about about it.
Am thinking of setting up a little business of sorts to try and earn some extra cash
Just a little publicity hawking.

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:40

Yep spotted one of the threads which is why I had a look. Your profile is much more interesting than mine. Made me think I should try and be more exciting.

casbie · 02/08/2007 15:46

i kept waiting for it to be revealed that HP was actually Snape's son...

maybe that's a twist too far though.

BandofMothers · 02/08/2007 15:48

I noticed the other day to my that I don't have Harry Potter under fave books[hmm

Bit of an over sight there hey??

AlbusPercivalWulfricBrianSun · 02/08/2007 15:51

Not sure I do either. Must do some profile housekeeping.

MrsWeasley · 02/08/2007 20:05

BOM I took a peek at your profile too (to see your art work) and thought no HP listed

LOL

KitsAndBits · 02/08/2007 23:43

Just finished it! Poor lupin & tonks - no ... poor baby Teddy

I was crying from the moment he opened the snitch

bit at the end was a bit soppy (grown up harry and his kids) but suppose it wouldn't feel 'tied up' if that bit didnt happen.

Bloody good book thoguhg.

Didnt like the dumbledoor at kingscross bit though, pretty much skipped through that, bored me, lol

KitsAndBits · 02/08/2007 23:45

and felt sooo sorry for Snape!!

(love him in the films, bit gorgeous!) but never trusted him, now ill be able to dribble at will knowing he;s good at heart

pointydog · 02/08/2007 23:46

Could someone just quickly tell me who it is who dies in the last book?

Thank you.

pointydog · 02/08/2007 23:47

Snape is one I take it

LittleBellatrixLeBoot · 02/08/2007 23:48

LittleBellatrixLeBoot · 02/08/2007 23:49
