Hello BOM How are you?
I'm not afraid of anything, I have a wand

My DC are learning all the HP music on the piano My DH started reading book 1 but he is so slow because unlike us he doesnt read it everyday, just every now and again!

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 22:37

Awww, we're really all back together again [soppy smile]! I must go and reread all the books again, in fact will start that once I've finished my current reading group one (which isn't nearly as good .

Tigerschick - I know what you mean about the rugby, I never thought that teams like Argentina & Fiji would do as well as they did! Great for the game though. Dh has been selling his tickets now, he's got two tickets for the final which he's Ebaying!

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 09:26

Morning all. Rosmonster I just finished a book I set aside halfway through to start reading the old Hps in prep for DH coming out! Am glad I finally finished it though as it was sooooooooo slow.

tigerschick · 12/10/2007 09:32

My dh simply will not read the books. He says he is content to watch the films and then let me fill him in on all the bits that were missed out/changed!
Does anyone know how long we have to wait for HBP to come out? I know they've not long since started it so there's gonna be a long wait but I was just wondering ...?

Rosmonster - dh predicted that Fiji would beat Wales before the tournament began, it's just a pity we didn't have any money on it And we had a lot of faith in Argentina - it's just a pity that Ireland didn't make a better show, maybe France wouldn't have got thru if they had!

rosmonster · 12/10/2007 09:40

Tiger - my dh won't read them either and will only watch the films when I make him! Dh has money on France to win but as he supports Ireland is v disappointed at how they did! Tbh I never thought England had a chance of getting out of the pool stages and now, the way this world cup is going, I'm starting to think they might make it to the final

Oh, and according to Wikipedia, HBP is due to be released 21 November 2008!

Songbird · 12/10/2007 09:41

Ah, we're all back [wipes a tear]. Is there any more news on the encyclopoedia? I can't bear the thought that there will be no more HP books.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 09:44

My DP has read them all and loves them thankfully. Also can't wait for the encyclopaedia.

fortyplus · 12/10/2007 09:46

Ds2 has a book of HP violin music. It does at least encourage him to practise, but it's painful sometimes...

tigerschick · 12/10/2007 10:01

fortyplus - I know what you mean. My neighbour's dc play instruments. Their dd plays the flute which is quiet and she's pretty good... their ds plays the cornet which is loud and he's not so good - it took 5 renditions of "Oh when the saints" for us to recognise it! It's such a pity when they really want it to sound like it does on the tape but just can't seem to.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 10:18

I have this to look forward to. My dad has bought DS a keyboard and a drum kit for Xmas.

tigerschick · 12/10/2007 10:27

In that case I have one word for you ...

HEADPHONES

He can wear them, plugged in, when he is playing the keyboard ... and you can wear them when he is playing the drums!

When I was about 4 my mum lost me for about 20 mins one morning because I was sitting in a big armchair playing our mini-keyboard with headphones on and I couldn't hear her shouting me!

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 10:49

What a great idea TC.

BandofMutantMonsters · 12/10/2007 10:50

MY GOD I WOULD KILL HIM!!!

Does he hate you for something???

tigerschick · 12/10/2007 10:56

My Grandad still laughs about the Christmas that we were staying at their house and db and I were given a mini band set! It had a drum, maracas, tambourine, castinets and a recorder type thing! It was 25 years ago and he still can't get over the noise we made

BandofMutantMonsters · 12/10/2007 11:02

DH has a friend who buys the dd's noisy toys, inc, a tamborine, a xylophone, cymbols and god knows what else. Either that or they're huge, a giant Pooh bear, tigger and a tiger that roars and its eyes light up when you whack it on the head.
Their room is full, and I had to take Pooh down as DH had hung him from the wal as he was so huge. It scared DD2 as it hung right over where we had to put her cot when she went in with DD1.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 11:17

He keeps telling me it's important that DS considers music as a career! He's only 18m. Don't mind the keyboard so much but drums!

BandofMutantMonsters · 12/10/2007 11:19

The cymbols got put away the next day, and so did the jingle bells that tied round her ankles, did I mention those???

Sunshinecursedmummy · 12/10/2007 11:20

Fantastic! DS will be confined to the conservatory.

BandofMutantMonsters · 12/10/2007 11:22

good idea.

Songbird · 12/10/2007 11:30

Ladies! We?re getting dangerously off-topic here!

tigerschick · 12/10/2007 12:22

DD will be 21 mo this Christmas - is that too young for her first copy of PS?

(Is that better Songbird? )
