We just need MrsW now!

tigerschick · 10/10/2007 21:18

It's like a little reunion here!

rosmonster · 10/10/2007 21:47

it is indeed! How are you tigerschick? Been watching the rugby?

tigerschick · 11/10/2007 07:53

Sorry, rosmonster (like the name BTW) bed called
Of course I've been watching the rugby! Still can't quite believe the England result from last Saturday. Or the France one for that matter - I was convinced that New Zealand were going to win the whole thing!

Regarding Lavendar Brown, I don't think that it is uncommon to use different actors in different films, especially if the character changes from being in the background to being one of the main characters. I wonder if the original actress went to the open audition ...?

Sunshinecursedmummy · 11/10/2007 09:09

Oh no surely Matt Lucas is Slughorn. Hello TC!

Charlee · 11/10/2007 09:18

Ohh are we still going?

Fab!

I am playing OOTP on XBOX 360, they cut out about 3/4 of the book! It is still quite fun though you get to walk round the whole of Hogwarta as it is seen on the film.

I can;t wait until HBP to come ot in film.

Sunshinecursedmummy · 11/10/2007 09:24

I still haven't seen OOTP! Moving house and holidays meant we never got round to it. Anyone know when it's out on DVD?

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 09:28

Hello Friends

So happy when I clicked on this morning and saw this thread in actives I had to pinch myself.

They have apparently found an actor to play the young Tom Riddle. He is an unknown and they are keeping it a secret from the press for the moment.

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 09:31

Sunshinecursedmummy 12th November

Songbird · 11/10/2007 12:17

Hello again everyone, we've started up again and this will be message 936 - c'mon, you know we can do it!!!

I must say, I've missed you all, it's just not the same when we 'meet' on other threads, like seeing teachers out of school when you were a kid .

I had a very embarrassing conversation with DB and SIL, both big HP fans (but not to our level, as you will see). I told them about all the stuff JKR has said about characters that wasn't written in the final book, particularly Ginny playing for Holyhead Harpies etc. They looked at each other and said 'oh, I don't remember that, do you?', so I said, 'no, it's not in the book, I read it on a website'. They thought this was hilarious and that I was slightly bonkers - apparently unless it's in black and white in a HP book, it's not true. 'It's not real' I had to be reminded . I did point out that it was JKR who's said this and not some obsessed fan (ahem!) but they weren't convinced.

Philistines!!!!!

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 13:40

honestly some people just dont understand our passion

People I talk to in RL think I have some sort of special contact when I say thinks like "Well apparently Luna goes on to be ...." etc LOL

bookwormmum · 11/10/2007 13:47

SCM - I had an email from Amazon the other day, I think it's being released any day now. If you register on the site, you can pre-order it .

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 14:10

lol MrsW, we have a direct line to JK so we can ask her ourselves

fawkeoff · 11/10/2007 14:13

i haven't had the heart to change my name since the hp saga.....i have re read all the books since the deathly hollows came out and re re re read that one ( makes me fill up still when he sees his mum,dad and sirius)

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 15:39

me to and at last my DD has finished it so we can all chat about it now . DS and I used to have to hide to talk about book 7. We still cant say Hedwig without tears in our eyes. Re-read so many time now, its shameful. DS gave me a book 2 weeks ago and said if you like HP you will love this but sadly it just isnt the same. good but not great.

Cant wait for DVD on the 12th November apparently it has extra footage hope it has lots and lots of extra footage (3 hours worth would be good )

allhallows · 11/10/2007 15:40

Read the 1st HP but don't remember much about it. Wasn't inspired to read more. Am I alone?

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 15:43

You dont know what you are missing

Sunshinecursedmummy · 11/10/2007 15:45

Oooh can't wait for the DVD. Will have a look and order now. BTW DP still hasn't hooked up the DVD player (yes we did move in in May)!

tigerschick · 11/10/2007 15:52

Hello everyone
Oh this is so nice!
I waited weeks for my mum to finish DH and then sat down to talk to her about it and she just said "Oh, yes. It was very well done wasn't it. I really enjoyed it." And then was impossible to draw into any kind of discussion about it!

It's not the same talking about it in RL tho as you can't go off to check things on the lexicon on another tab and come back all knowledgeable ... not that I'd ever hide where I get my info from ... me? Never!

MrsWeasley · 11/10/2007 16:37

me neither (I still check on mugglenet often, maybe a little too often )

Sunshinecursedmummy · 11/10/2007 16:49

Maybe we should read them all again and start a new thread discussing how they are once you know what happens.

fawkeoff · 11/10/2007 16:55

and guess what dp did for me.......he bught me every book again in the adult edition in hardback .....i let people read my old ones that my dad passed to me but they are a bit tatty NOBODY is allowed to touch my new ones.mrs weasley i understand how you feel about hedwig

Sunshinecursedmummy · 11/10/2007 17:24

That's lovely Fawkeoff. Lucky you.

rosmonster · 11/10/2007 17:33

That's really nice fawke, but I must admit [looks round and whispers] I really like having the child editions

fawkeoff · 11/10/2007 17:34

I know it was really lovely of him to do that for me, and nowwe have 2 sets he has started to read them he doesnt anything but the sports pages so it's a huge thing to have converted him......and he loves them, he is making me laugh with his theories because i wont tell him what happens in them
