I'll start!
Enid Blyton, without a doubt. And still the author who instilled a love of reading, whose books I devoured, and have loved as much all over again reading them to my own children.

As an adult, I guess it's Ruth Rendell/Barbara Vine.

also as a child read the trebizon series
and loads of sweet valley high books
Then in my late teens went through a stage of reading jean plaid
Dolled by Rosalind Pilcher and Maeve Binchy
And love saga stories like the Cazalets
