To celebrate the publication of bestselling author Lucy Diamond's latest novel The House of New Beginnings, we're asking you to share your big plans for this coming year.

Number 11, Dukes Square looks just like the other houses on the Brighton seafront: a Regency terrace, a winding staircase, and post piling up in the hall for its three new tenants. It might be part of the city's history, but it's also a place for fresh starts.

Georgie has followed her childhood sweetheart to Brighton but is determined to carve out a career for herself in journalism. Charlotte's in the city for a new start, hoping to keep her head down and somehow get over the heartbreaking loss she's suffered in the past. A terrible revelation sent Rosa running from London to start again as a sous chef. As the three women find each other, it's as if a whole new chapter of their lives has begun.

From the bestselling author of The Secrets of Happiness and Summer at Shell Cottage, this is an uplifting story about love, loss and starting over.

To be in with a chance of winning a hardback edition of The House of New Beginnings, a bottle of champagne PLUS a luxury box of macarons from Brighton's famous Julien Plumart Patisserie (featured in the book), just tell us - what are your resolutions and ambitions for 2017? Three runners-up will also receive copies of the book.

This discussion is sponsored by Macmillan and will close at midday on Thursday 23 February

So many resolutions above that I could have written and I identify with.

I need to lose weight, declutter and get fit. Simple really, but every year is the same.

Hopefully my daughter will announce a wedding date soon, that would really be my motivation, come on DD, love you to bits, give me an incentive!

Angelil · 01/02/2017 19:50

My ambitions are to a) change job, b) publish my first novel [I have 3 completed ones sitting in a drawer!], and c) maybe start a family [probably incompatible with a) ] :p

To lose a stone and to read more books

teddygirlonce · 02/02/2017 18:21

To lose some weight, get fitter and to earn more money!

So not a lot to ask really! Grin

I'm aiming to get out and walk every day and to each more fruit and vegetables. I know it's very basic but I find fresh air and walking really clears my head and helps me focus, but due to anxiety I struggle to go out a lot.

cather · 04/02/2017 19:43

I need to lose some weight and I am challenging myself to cycle 1500 miles this year.

With so many horrible things going on in the world I am trying to 'be the change you want to see' ( Gandhi). I am trying to be more politically active for causes that I believe in and to participate in more charitable endeavours, specifically targeted towards Syrian Refugees. There are so many ' first world problems' that really are not anything at the end of the day, that I want to be involved in the greater good of the world.

I want to declutter and make time to rediscover the joys of knitting. Then there is making time for more reading, return to agility classes with my dog and do more baking. Quite a list but you can only try...

Lorelaiandrory · 14/02/2017 07:07
  1. to get a handle on my anxiety by lifestyle changes.
  2. get a new job where I am respected and where I will be motivated
  3. have fun days with the children as I will not be crippled with anxiety
TracyKNixon · 15/02/2017 06:32

To save money by using up my leftovers, making weekly meal plans and to make a shopping list and stick to it!

Sleavercole123 · 15/02/2017 07:05

I would like to eat more macaron

barbsbarbs · 15/02/2017 07:06

Do stuff rather than not do stuff.

alabaster002 · 15/02/2017 07:16

Be smarter, be kinder, be helpful!

tigga61 · 15/02/2017 07:30

my amibition for 2017 is to keep the black dog of depression out of sight and continue my university degree as a mature student of 55 this is hard work as i feel like the odd one out all the time so its hard to overcome the feelings i have but so far im succeeding for the most part.

TAtfield · 15/02/2017 07:46

Mine is to finally get started on converting cupboard to a toilet, and the bathroom into a utility room, plus do more hours at work so we can have a family holiday this year.

emzywemzy1986 · 15/02/2017 07:48

I'm hoping to tone up after having baby no.2 in November, and also decorated the house as we moved in October and haven't been able to do it as was heavily pregnant. Managed to emulsion all the rooms, just have woodwork left to do and the bathroom

SSCRASE123 · 15/02/2017 08:09

Lose the weight gained from stopping smoking, spend more time as a family and get another load of the jobs around the house completed.

wjanice121 · 15/02/2017 08:13

I want to get fitter but by end goal is to run the 5k santa dash in town, in December.

renas · 15/02/2017 08:25

I want to be happy in my work so changed jobs as 2016 was horrible at my old employers.

AnimalAddict · 15/02/2017 08:37

My resolution this year is to eat healthier and get fit! :)

star1000 · 15/02/2017 08:43

Think positively, live for the moment and enjoy quality family time together!

AngelwingsPetlamb · 15/02/2017 08:49

I'm desperately trying to get my house in order so I can sell it and move to a smaller, more manageable house. We want to spend our time enjoying each other's company rather than doing housework or maintenance. We want to spend our down time, going to the theatre, getting out and about and traveling. We are also newly engaged and after we gave moved house we have the wedding to plan - busy year !

Janussi · 15/02/2017 08:52

I want to have a better year than the last two when I lost my mum and broke my arm and shoulder. My ambitions involve writing more on my blog, sending my books to literary agents, getting to grips with EBay and getting fitter by continuing with the Tai chi class I recently joined.

karkey · 15/02/2017 09:15

my aim for 2017 is to be more open minded as i feel i have become stuck in my ways
