To celebrate the publication of bestselling author Lucy Diamond's latest novel The House of New Beginnings, we're asking you to share your big plans for this coming year.

Number 11, Dukes Square looks just like the other houses on the Brighton seafront: a Regency terrace, a winding staircase, and post piling up in the hall for its three new tenants. It might be part of the city's history, but it's also a place for fresh starts.

Georgie has followed her childhood sweetheart to Brighton but is determined to carve out a career for herself in journalism. Charlotte's in the city for a new start, hoping to keep her head down and somehow get over the heartbreaking loss she's suffered in the past. A terrible revelation sent Rosa running from London to start again as a sous chef. As the three women find each other, it's as if a whole new chapter of their lives has begun.

From the bestselling author of The Secrets of Happiness and Summer at Shell Cottage, this is an uplifting story about love, loss and starting over.

To be in with a chance of winning a hardback edition of The House of New Beginnings, a bottle of champagne PLUS a luxury box of macarons from Brighton's famous Julien Plumart Patisserie (featured in the book), just tell us - what are your resolutions and ambitions for 2017? Three runners-up will also receive copies of the book.

This discussion is sponsored by Macmillan and will close at midday on Thursday 23 February

I am trying to eat and drink a lot healthier by looking at labels and making more food from scratch. Exercising regularly, too.

janeyf1 · 15/02/2017 09:19

For 2017 I want to continue to work hard and save up to become a second stepper because my home is too small

Sillysausage123 · 15/02/2017 10:05

My resolution is to try and do one small thing each day to give me happiness. The past 5 years I have been dogged by depression and I'm determined 2017 will be my year

muppet1501 · 15/02/2017 10:23

My new years resolution is to not be taken for granted and learn to say the word no. This has lost me friends but it clearly shows who were the true ones in the first place and who were just there for everything they could get.

cherylann2461 · 15/02/2017 10:41

I would like to get fit as I have an autoimmune system disease

voyager50 · 15/02/2017 10:46

To try and find a bit more time for me - moving closer to friends and family is great but I've found unexpected visits take time out of my day and I never get through my to do lists!

jandoc · 15/02/2017 10:47

I just want to enjoy every moment as much as I can

debbiew21 · 15/02/2017 10:49

Wow, reading some of the other comments makes me realise we are all the same! I go into other people's houses and think how effortlessly tidy everything looks compared to my own but it is all a facade isn't it? Deep down we all feel we need to get on top of things, declutter and feed the kids fewer fish fingers and more veg. My resolutions are the same as everyone else's but maybe we actually need to stop measuring ourselves against impossible goals and recognise the fact that we're doing okay as we are. We've got this! (slinks off to declutter the fingers...)

Be more me! I got a lost in the new mum world and I couldn't see much of me in there at all. I'm taking a bit more me time, I'm buying clothes I like rather than just what's cheap and a necessity, I might change my hair and hopefully we are moving back to "home" to be nearer friends and DH's work so we can get a bit of our social lives back.

ptak5566 · 15/02/2017 10:55

I have started to swim twice a week as it is not just about appearance but having a healthy heart.

Hertsgirl75 · 15/02/2017 11:01

Funkyferret · 15/02/2017 11:24

I want to end the year really organised with more time to enjoy life, and possibly on the way to getting a little business idea off the ground.

123hartley123 · 15/02/2017 11:35

DRINK MORE WATER

DiJones · 15/02/2017 11:41

lose weight and be tidier ( no chance ) so I'll go with read more books.

Nicola27 · 15/02/2017 11:49

My main goal this year is to get myself a job. I've spent years looking after my children and husband and think it's time I had a change from housework/taxiing/volunteering/helping my mum etc and I'm going to get a job to take myself out of all this and spend time with people other than family. I'm a little rusty and lacking in confidence but I'm going for it. Earlier today I've found 3 jobs to apply for, so here goes!

AneleH · 15/02/2017 12:03

My resolutions and ambitions for 2017 are to declutter and finally get the house into an organised state as opposed to having things everywhere.
We have started, but it's going to be a long, slow process.

foxytrudi · 15/02/2017 12:08

To have a healthy life and enjoy being retired. Last year ended with my husband being diagnosed with cancer. Hopefully tomorrow we will be told that the major operation carried out has been a total sucess. This has reinforced the fact that health is all important.

kacky · 15/02/2017 12:21

My resolution is to think nice thoughts at least once every day.
