To celebrate the publication of bestselling author Lucy Diamond's latest novel The House of New Beginnings, we're asking you to share your big plans for this coming year.

Number 11, Dukes Square looks just like the other houses on the Brighton seafront: a Regency terrace, a winding staircase, and post piling up in the hall for its three new tenants. It might be part of the city's history, but it's also a place for fresh starts.

Georgie has followed her childhood sweetheart to Brighton but is determined to carve out a career for herself in journalism. Charlotte's in the city for a new start, hoping to keep her head down and somehow get over the heartbreaking loss she's suffered in the past. A terrible revelation sent Rosa running from London to start again as a sous chef. As the three women find each other, it's as if a whole new chapter of their lives has begun.

From the bestselling author of The Secrets of Happiness and Summer at Shell Cottage, this is an uplifting story about love, loss and starting over.

To be in with a chance of winning a hardback edition of The House of New Beginnings, a bottle of champagne PLUS a luxury box of macarons from Brighton's famous Julien Plumart Patisserie (featured in the book), just tell us - what are your resolutions and ambitions for 2017? Three runners-up will also receive copies of the book.

This discussion is sponsored by Macmillan and will close at midday on Thursday 23 February

My goals for this year are: to adopt healthier lifestyle, to have more quality time with my kids and to have the opportunity to travel :)

imacmum · 30/01/2017 17:09

We are going to build our own house, our plans will be decided by the Planning Committee in a fortnight after a lot of opposition by the neighbours to the plans we have submitted. Wish us luck!

Anj123 · 30/01/2017 17:28

I want to remember to never take anything for granted.

Lovelybangers · 30/01/2017 17:38

My resolution for this year is to get fit for my fiftieth!

My goal this year is to look after myself better. Take a little time each week for me as I'm mentally exhausted from giving to the entire family and neglecting myself.

shadydelta · 30/01/2017 17:47

I have big hopes for this year my family and i have made a new years pact to save for our dream holiday to Croatia. Since none of us have ever been abroad before this will be a big treat for all of us and we cant wait to be able to go.

crimeworm · 30/01/2017 17:50

To lose weight - a lot. I've been going to Slimming World for three weeks, and even dragged the OH along! Also, to write more - I have so many unique life experiences, not all good, that I want to use in a novel. On my review blog, crimeworm, I want to start reviewing nonfiction - I miss reading it! Also, and probably most importantly, I want to gut this book-filled house, which is SO cold and depressing in winter, and move back to the city, where there's some culture! Oh, one more - read lots!

crimeworm · 30/01/2017 17:52

Good luck! My sister's house is being held up by the planners, so I sympathise.

rhinosuze · 30/01/2017 18:03

My resolution was to eat better as a family whichever always found tricky with the little one but so far so good, I've been looking online for recipes and found quite a lot of easy ones which is great as after work I don't want to spend hours cooking as I want enough time with my daughter before bed. My ambition however is to finally get married to my partner this year, just something low key but I really want to get on and do it so we all have the same name

lottietiger · 30/01/2017 18:05

This year we are on a spending cut back as we hope to have an extension later in the year. So I need to de clutter and get everything on e bay. Make some money save some money and tidy up at the same time. Oh and I need to lose some weight:)

crimeworm · 30/01/2017 18:05

Can I just add - I'd love to try macarons. I've never had them. Ever!

ExhaustedPigeon · 30/01/2017 18:46

I managed to keep a diary all last year for the first time ever. Mainly as a record of the children as I realised I was already forgetting things about my 4 year old that were so important and / or cute at the time that I thought I would remember them forever. Going to do another one this year and have added a Filofax (old school here) to sort out my life - everything from a diary, meal plans and cleaning to books and films I want to read/watch, birthday and Christmas lists and tracking my diet/water/exercise. I let has my whole life in and I'm hoping it will help be become more organised and help my mental wellbeing

buddles · 30/01/2017 19:16

My New Years resolutions are to continue losing weight until I reach my target weight (I've currently lost over 3st since May and at the lightest I've been in my 30s).

To finally declutter/sort the spare bedroom out (and maybe the rest of the house whilst I'm at it)

And to finally learn dressmaking.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 30/01/2017 19:28

My big ambition for 2017 is to run a marathon, although I'm already starting to wonder if my knees are up to it.
My other goal is to unpack all the boxes from when we moved house.

rachelkanga · 30/01/2017 19:45

I would love to study for a degree. Unfortunately time was against me when younger and when I had the time I couldn't afford to do one. I look every now and again but other things in my life seem to hold up my plans.

Annamaria0 · 30/01/2017 19:46

I want to: finish the book I'm writing; learn a new language (well, not to be fluent, but to get by); get a part time job with a charity. All in all, quite ambitious.

clairebybear · 30/01/2017 20:15

To read at least 1 book a month. To take the dogs on longer walks to improve my health. Take better care of myself and wellbeing in general.

glenka · 30/01/2017 20:30

I want to try and be less anxious about everything.

u123 · 30/01/2017 20:44

To be more positive.

blogmumjd · 30/01/2017 20:46

I'm aiming to try and get fit

BeautySwot · 30/01/2017 20:48

My resolution is to make each and every day count.Think cheerful thoughts and exercise more! As it is my fortieth this year I plan on doing some fab things.

On a personal level I want to complete my second novel - am 64K in already so almost there.... and promote my first. Then I can celebrate with Champagne and macarons :) yum yum

Highfivethatfart · 30/01/2017 20:54

I don't have any big plans or ambitions just a big list!

To run 10 10ks
To run at least 26 miles each month (not in one! go just over the course of a month - the more the better)
To clear my store credit account
To lose 1/2 a stone (not a huge amount but still seems to be toughie for me to do).
To read a book a fortnight.
Smile.

I also cheat slightly and don't start my resolutions until February - I give myself the month of January to 'prepare'!......Grin

janjan29 · 30/01/2017 21:01

I never normally make new year's resolutions but decided this year I need to try to be more organised particularly when going out with the children. Ie preparing bags (drinks/snacks/etc) earlier rather than the mad rush when it's time to leave!

Mumandnanny · 30/01/2017 21:05

To achieve a better work life balance and appreciate the things I have. To stretch myself mentally and physically by learning/trying new things.
