There are advantages to being in the trade, so to speak...just had an urgent e-mail from The Bookseller!

Oh B88ger - we're in the US on holiday that week - do you think they'll launch it there at the same time???

expatinscotland · 01/02/2007 12:54

I'm going to Waterstone's at midnight for my copy.

I've already got the day off the next day so I can spend the night reading.

Steward · 01/02/2007 12:55

I have just found that info out and atarted the same thread in chat

DumbledoresGirl · 01/02/2007 12:56

OMG I was just thinking about this this morning and wondering whether I would hear the news on Mumsnet!

DumbledoresGirl · 01/02/2007 12:56

Thanks Marina

Marina · 01/02/2007 12:56

Although I did think that if anyone found out before The Bookseller it would be you DG

Any way to figure out where she's going to be doing book signing on opening night?

She usually appears at midnight at one lucky shop and signs books for a while.

That would be COOL!

I'd queue up for that most definitely.

FrogPrincess · 01/02/2007 12:58

dd will be staying up and getting her copy at midnight
thanks Marina

DumbledoresGirl · 01/02/2007 13:00

Oh no, I find out everything here!

I am into another author at the moment - to the extent that I have been emailing him

FrogPrincess · 01/02/2007 13:01

who is it DG?

DumbledoresGirl · 01/02/2007 13:02

I am DG

Marina · 01/02/2007 13:02

I'd say you were well placed for that signing surely expat...

OP posts:
FrogPrincess · 01/02/2007 13:03

DG, I know you're DG
I meant who's the other author you're into

expatinscotland · 01/02/2007 13:06

No doubt, Marina, that's why I keep wondering which shop it will be taking place at, so I can go queue up early!

I can't wait!

DH thinks I'm such a saddo.

Marina · 01/02/2007 13:08

I am a mere amateur on this thread but I am pleased it is being released in time for my holidays and will certainly be pre-ordering

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 01/02/2007 13:09

I pre-ordered with all the other books, but this time, I'm definitely going to go in person!

I can't wait till it comes back and I get to remind DG that Dumby really is dead.

ShowOfHands · 01/02/2007 13:16

Ooh I'll be on maternity leave then with an 8 week old baby. I can't drag her out with me at midnight can I?

saltire · 01/02/2007 13:16

I have pre ordered as well. When HBP came out i was waiting at the end of my street for the postie - he was weighted down, every single house in my house had at least one copy!
We can now spend ages dicussing what will happen

saltire · 01/02/2007 13:17

Obviously i meant "every single house in my street". See I'm so excited i can't type properly

Flamesparrow · 01/02/2007 13:18

Preordered now

(I don't think I can face a midnight stint...)

Marina · 01/02/2007 13:18

SOH, and don't even be tempted to use her as a bookrest. You will flatten her unless she turns out to be Kirstie-like in dimensions...
