Eva and Gideon’s journey is not easy. There are times when it seems love can’t conquer all. But these two understand each other on the most primal level. It’s Eva and Gideon’s fierce struggle to love one another – in spite of their demons – that has captivated readers worldwide.

The five-book Crossfire series deeply explores questions of love, life and self-acceptance. Bared to You and Reflected in You follow Eva and her journey to recovery, but through Entwined with You and Captivated by You the focus shifts to Gideon as he takes the steps toward healing that’s a driving force for Crossfire. The anxiously awaited One with You is the heart-breaking and poignant finale to this searingly successful series.

We've got 150 books from the Crossfire series, including One with You, to give away to lucky Mumsnetters to read and share their thoughts about it on this discussion thread. Go to the giveaway page to find out more about the books in the series and pick which one you'd like a free copy of.

Not for me I'm afraid!

Thanks for my copy of the book Bared To You. This book left me annoyed as it just came to an end and left far too many questions unanswered; the main one being who was Gideon's abuser. The sex scenes just became monotonous, I'd rather have found out more about Gideon's past (how did he become so successful so young?). I won't be bothering to read the rest of the series as I feel they'll have the same plotline i.e. misunderstanding/arguments and then make up sex and I'll still be none the wise about Gideon's past.

after reading some of the reviews here was hoping for really good read ,but how wrong could I be BARED TO YOU is really Sylvia Days rewriting of E.L. James book, "Fifty Shades of Grey." so because of this I couldn't really get into it or even wanted to try too pity Sylvia had steal someone ideas so they could try make a name for themselves ,so she on my blacklist as just another copycat

mrsfluffytail · 09/08/2016 13:24

This series is part of the fifty shades genre and the two are very comparable.

It's an easy read which gets to the point much faster than fifty shades and develops some of the ideas from the fifty shades series. The back stories of the characters are more developed although the actual story is a bit cliche and predictable.

As I was reading I did wonder about the impact this could have on young women who may believe that elements of this sort of relationship are acceptable and who may end up in an abusive relationship. The whole story hinges around money. Half of the scenarios could not happen if Gideon was not rich.

It's a good read and I did enjoy the series. However, the realities of such a relationship may not be as glamorous as the books make out.

Thoroughly enjoying my free copy of Bared to You. Thank you. Looking forward to reading the whole series Smile

webster147 · 14/08/2016 21:00

I was really looking forward to reading my copy of Bared to You but have to say that I am slightly disappointed, the characters were a little weak and I couldn't relate to any of them at all which is something that's really important to me in any book I read. The story is easy to follow and the book is a quick read but it didn't have any depth and I ended up not caring what was going to happen in the end. I'm not sure if I will read any of the other books in the series.

mumofmadboys · 15/08/2016 21:44

Thank you for my book ,Bared to you. I had not heard of this series before. I felt the book lacked much story line . The characters lacked depth . It didn't really grip me I'm afraid and I doubt I'll read the others in the series. Thanks Mumsnet for selecting me for the book.

henchard · 15/08/2016 23:06

Many thanks Mumsnet for my free book. Just beginning to read it now. Will post again when I have finished it.

Buzzardbird · 16/08/2016 17:50

Sorry for late posting. I haven't been able to read much as only returned from holiday recently.
The book is not really my 'genre' I think. I don't like the way the herione gushes over the attractive man.

I will persevere and update on this post.

Many thanks to Mumsnet / Penguin Random House for a copy of 'One With You'. The author has done well with these very popular sets of books, and I was looking forward to a great read.

The books are intriguingly presented, with a modern contemporary cover design - I was half-expecting action, espionage and suspense to be mixed in with the relationship plot. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Unfortunately, the book comes across as little more than a reworking of 'Fifty Shades Of Grey'. Yes, it's sheer escapism, but not quite gripping or edge-of-your-seat, I'm afraid. The way the characters behave make it difficult to invest in their predicaments, and the events lead up to a somewhat predictable ending. And despite being the final book in a series of 5, there are still mysteries surrounding Gideon’s past. (Maybe I am being unfair as the answers could be in the previous books. But being the final instalment, I expected it all to be neatly wrapped up).

As stated above, the books are selling and clearly work has gone into them. Fans of this genre should enjoy it.

many thanks for crossfire my partner is a big fan of Sylvia Day so is reading it first and is so far enjoying what she has read.

alexiscasey123 · 18/08/2016 15:05

I received Bared to You (thanks MN!) I've foind it quite hard to get into, and probably haven't made it to the middle yet. Not the type of book i normally read as i prefer more depth to the storyline, i won't be getting the rest of the series next time i'm in a bookshop.

CarerWhoCaresTooMuch · 18/08/2016 15:28

Oh my oh my..... Thanks for the free Copy of bared to you... Only finally got round to picking it up to Read it a couple of days ago and I love it, I'm hooked So much so I've just bought the next 2 in the series. Can't wait to see how everything develops as I read the next books.

Mozarmstrong · 18/08/2016 15:53

Bared to You Not particularly enjoying this just that sort of book really. Sorry but that's my opinion.

Anj123 · 18/08/2016 16:16

I finished this book last week. It wasn't really my cup of tea but I like trying things out I wouldn't normally try so thanks for giving me the opportunity!

GERTA · 18/08/2016 16:41

Bared to You was the book I received. A book which is putting me off from reading the rest of the Crossfire novels. Not a book I woud recommend. I thought I was reading a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey! But with a boring storyline. It looks
Like the author is more obssesed describing the sex rather then the story or the feeling of the characters.

busterj · 18/08/2016 20:56

Thank you for the book ,my wife has read it and she says it was a fabulous read .

cavylover · 18/08/2016 22:11

Thanks for sending the book and having the opportunity of reading it. Unfortunately, however, I did not particularly enjoy it. Hadn't previously heard of this series of books before. When I saw the cover I should have guessed what it was about!

HTarling · 18/08/2016 22:34

I read Bared to You but I really did not enjoy it. I couldn't believe in the two main characters right from the beginning, so didn't find the storyline convincing even though I made myself read it to the end. It seemed to be modelled on Fifty Shades of Grey but fell way short in my opinion.

yvonne48 · 22/08/2016 10:05

I received the last in the series One with You, Having read all the books now I don't think I would read them again. I do feel the the series could have had more of a story to it.

avery64 · 22/08/2016 11:20

I hadn't heard of this series before receiving a copy of 'Bared to You' Before reading I read several rave reviews and was really looking forward to escaping into a good book but I'm afraid I was sadly disappointed, I found the first few chapters very lack lustre. I didn't warm to the central characters: Eva and Gideon. I skimmed the following few chapters and it didn't get any better so the book lies languishing on my bedside table and is destined for a charity shop. So disappointed :(

KKeleher · 22/08/2016 12:11

Thoroughly enjoyed my free copy of Bared to You. Have since read Reflected in You and am now on Entwined with You.... Looking forward to reading the whole series. Thanks for introducing me to them Grin x

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 22/08/2016 18:07

Not a great series! I've read the first three books because a friend bought them for me but I am very unimpressed. Gideon is a very strange lead character and not likeable at all. Sylvia Day has strung the plot line out as far as she can to cash in on the series and, quite frankly, I couldn't be bothered to read the last two.

PeggyMitchell123 · 22/08/2016 18:39

I read the first crossfire book and found it extremely boring. The relationship between the two characters was very intense very quickly. Gideon is just unlikeable and the female was weak.

Didn't bother with any of the others.
