This month we are delighted to bring you Hoot Owl, Master of Disguise. This hilarious tale from masterful storyteller Sean Taylor and celebrated graphic artist Jean Jullien tells the story of Hoot Owl, an extraordinary owl and master of disguise, and how he uses his expert camouflage powers to trick his unsuspecting prey.

Laugh-out-loud and boldly illustrated, Hoot Owl is the perfect book for reading aloud together and we think you'll probably enjoy it as much as the kids.

Walker Books have asked us to find 50 Mumsnetters to read Hoot Owl and tell us what they think about it on this discussion thread. Go to the giveaway page to find out more and apply for a free copy.

You don’t have to win a free copy to take part in the discussion. Anyone who has read Hoot Owl can post their feedback here, and all who post before 25 April will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Love2Shop voucher.

Great read, really funny.

bobble5366 · 13/03/2016 08:12

brilliantly designed and drawn, with thick, bold lines and magnificent colours. In the book Hoot schemes how to get its next meal in this slightly scary (in way young ones will appreciate e'g the food chain), mostly funny picture book. Great for kids who like main characters with lots of bravado."Everyone knows owls are wise. But as well as being wise, I'm a master of disguise." He disguises himself in many ways tying to find his next meal. But the prey continue to escape his clutches him. He tries one final disguise and lands himself a delicious pizza! yum !

I think hoot owl master of disguise is a suave, intelligent, innovative owl who seriously is the coolest owl ever, he makes us laugh and keeps us both reading.

We loved this. He isn't such a master at disguise after all. My son loved the bit where he disguised himself as a carrot!

Roraima · 13/03/2016 10:40

If my children were still children they'd love it to bits ...so now I haven't tried on their children but I have no doubt it will go out with a BANG!
